Then came an unexpected love story with Matt, a Christ-like friend facing terminal cancer; they married, ministered with “joy in suffering,” and Matt later passed away. Lara shares a hard-won theology of suffering, permission to lament, and the daily practices that tethered her to Jesus when healing didn’t come.
