Some of the hardest wounds in life come from the words and actions of others—especially when they happen in secret, behind our backs, or outside of our control. Psalm 64 captures that pain as the psalmist cries out for protection from those plotting against him and speaking evil in hidden places. Yet the psalm does not end in fear or defeat. It ends with confidence that God sees, God judges rightly, and God will ultimately defend those who trust in Him. Even more, when we remain faithful in the middle of unjust treatment, our lives become a testimony of God’s faithfulness for others to see. When you cannot defend yourself, you can still trust the One who never misses the truth. Stay steadfast, keep doing what is right, and let God do the work only He can do.
