- God keeps better records than we do. Mordecai's faithfulness five years earlier seemed forgotten, but God remembered at the perfect time. Don't grow weary in doing good—your faithful service is never wasted, even when recognition is delayed.

- Pride always ends in humiliation; humility leads to honor. Haman's self-absorption blinded him to reality and led to his downfall. Let others praise you rather than seeking honor for yourself. Focus on showing honor rather than demanding it.

- Stop seeking vindication and trust God's vengeance. Mordecai didn't mention saving the king's life or gloat over his enemies. He simply returned to his post at the gate after being honored. Leave room for God's wrath and remember that opposition is often an opportunity to experience God's omnipotence.
