Episode 12: NYU - engaged alum RAs! Mustfa is a former healthcare management consultant with five years of experience and currently is a medical student at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of TJU in Philadelphia, PA. He is working on spine-focused clinical research projects at Hospital for Special Surgery, as well. Mustfa has also completed graduate degrees in healthcare management at Columbia University and medical microbiology at University of Florida.

Savetrie is a licensed speech language pathologist with seven years of experience working with all ages in the home, school, and private office settings. She currently works for the Department of Education in the state's early intervention program and has private practice clients, as well. Savetrie has also maintained her relationship with NYU through research experiences in the NYU CSD department, serving as an adjunct instructor for the course Neuroanatomy & Physiology of Communication.

Kim Pham NYU ’14, RA in Carlyle Court, is a longtime human-in-technology, having worked in VC and startups in New York and Boston since she was 16. She graduated from NYU Stern, where she was the first female president of Tech@NYU and founding partner of Dorm Room Fund NYC. After graduating, Kim moved to Dublin and London to join Frontline Ventures as Head of Platform. Her work there led to her being named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Europe in 2017. Kim now runs her own venture capital consultancy and is a co-founder at Oxtale.

Dilim Dieke NYU ' 15 MSW is currently the Mentoring Services Program Manager / Social Worker at The Catholic Big Sisters & Big Brothers. She also is an Adjunct Lecturer for Field Learning at Columbia's School of Social Work. Dilim was a Grad RA in Washington Square Village (WSV) from 2014-2015 and was also an RA as an undergraduate student at Arizona State University. Dilim graduated from NYU with an MSW from the Silver School of Social Work in May 2015. Additionally, Dilim recently co-founded the LIT Network, described as the first ever women of color (multicultural) young professional network of emerging leaders nationally.

Michael George is a photographer, writer, and people-lover based out of Brooklyn. Through his work he strives to tell stories of our common humanity through travel, culture, and the underrepresented. Michael’s stories have been published by National Geographic, The New York Times, Teen Vogue, and dozens of other publications. Jackie a two-year RA at Rubin in 2013-15 helped create the Fashion/Business floor while an undergraduate. She interned at Barney's NY her senior year and was hired full-time upon graduation. Great advice on being an RA, working in the fashion industry, and how she applies those lessons every day.

Emma Tattenbaum-Fine is a comedian, storyteller, essayist, director, and actor. You can see her on Ep. 16 of the Netflix series, Explained. She's been an HQ Trivia host many times over and performed standup with Comedy Central at Caroline's, but she's most proud of being an original cast member of Reality Show: NYU and, later, the very first NYU Abu Dhabi production. Mitch Bloom, two-time alum of NYU ('08 and '12) left NYU and served in the Peace Corp and is now a chef, and health educator. He focuses on food systems and account management. His travels have taken him to Togo, and throughout US. He ran his own restaurant WOEZO West African Cuisine in Brooklyn and now works with world class chefs delivering food at 'pop-up' locations in NYC.

Ryan Miller served as an RA in Brittany Hall for two years working on an explorations floor, Big Apple, Big Screen. He is a writer, director and creative director living in LA. He currently serves as the Associate Creative Director at REP Interactive working on commercial and corporate shorts with such top companies as: Century 21, Coldwell Banker and Mattel. Natalie Engdahl '10 was a standout RA at Lafayette Hall. An international student who hails from Sweden, Natalie is an international success in the non-profit world. She is currently the Founder ad Consultant for Challenge Forward AB, working in Tanzania, Africa. Her non-profit work has spanned many cities in Africa and impacting the world. Her current work runs incubator programs for social entrepreneurs in Africa and Europe.

Shauna Hamlin 2002-04 who served as an RA both in the old “uptown area” – 25th/26th street and Goddard Hall. Shauna, a west coaster, came to NYU to help continue to follow her aspirations in the film world. After graduation she ventured back ‘home’ to Seattle, LA and Vancouver, BC to take up her dream. She worked on production for Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and some other film projects. Shauna is a mother of two and discusses the transition from NYU graduation, to a film career, being a parent/spouse, and changing to a new career.
