Peter and John were arrested for healing this man using the name of Jesus. Acts 3:6-8

It’s not that they healed the man that caused the uproar, it’s that they credited the name of Jesus as the healer!

The devil is not affected by your works, it’s that you credit the name of Jesus as your source!

How did they enforce what was legally theirs?

Acts 4:29-30 "Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak Your word with great boldness. Stretch out Your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”

But at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises to God and He sent a great earthquake that shook open the prison gates and broke chains off them.

What took place before the breakthrough?

What was the attack? A Python spirit.

A Python spirit can be at work sending demonic attacks against you and unless you recognize it and use your authority it can have its way.

Paul was not in sin.

It was not a curse, it was opposition.

Acts 16:16-19

As Paul was going to prayer, we see three things that took place:

#1. He met opposition

#2. He experienced retaliation for doing the right thing

#3. God gave him discernment because he was in-tune with the Holy Spirit.

We need to know the name of Jesus Christ and know the power within that name.

You Shut The The Lion's Mouth

Hungry lions are destructive, yet when you’re in right standing with God, what devours others is at peace with you!

The hungry lions did not touch Daniel, yet, jumped up into the air to devour the men who threw Daniel in!

He was steadfast before the time of trial. He was prepared in faith ahead of time.

2 Thess. 3:3 The Lord is faithful who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

Phil. 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it.

You may not have time in the trial to build up the faith you need to overcome the attack, that is why before the trial, it is important to build your faith against opposition.

King Darius issued an edict that no one could pray to anyone but him.

Yet Daniel remained faithful to God, even though it could cost him his life.

Daniel prayed to the Lord, and did not try to hide it, and was still thrown into the lion’s den.

The lions were hungry, they were purposely not fed, yet they did not touch Daniel!

You are called to be a warrior just like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

Know your identity and know your authority.

There was a fourth man in the fire and the same God who protected Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego will protect you. The fourth man in the fire stands with you. He will take you through the trial and you will see His hand at work in your life.

Jesus said in John 11:25 & 26 to Martha when they were talking about the death of Lazarus, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

The Yielding that caused the tearing.

That tearing led to something. It led to many to come to Christ as they are.

The veil was torn to separate the dividing wall of hostility and brought us free access to Jesus, because of His shed blood.

Jesus willingly yielded His Spirit. The Lord established the contract with the earthquake that took place. He said it was finished. His blood solidified it. Signed by His blood!

We now can walk boldly before Him.

What He sees in secret, will be rewarded openly.

Your habitat with the Lord, the secret place of holy habitation is an intimate place of victory for you. Yet , His reward is open. His reward is public.

He promised it.

Matthew 6:6 "But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly."

Hebrews 11:6 "Without faith it is impossible to please Him."

2 Kings 4:32 Elisha raised the Shunammites son from the dead to life.

He shut the door and prayed in the secrete place.

After laying on the child, and praying in faith, that child rose from the dead!

Public reward for the secret prayer!

The plowman is overtaking the reaper!
