How do we address the things going on around us in the world today?
The important thing to remember is that we need to stop trying to convert others to our way of thinking. We need to stop asking them to see things like we do...THEY HATE US AND THEY HATE OUR GOD.
We must love like Jesus...truly love like Jesus.
"When I was a child, I spoke like a child, thought like a child and reasoned like a child. When I became a man I put away childish things..." - 1 Corinthians 13:11
There are many scriptures that we can turn to and find inspiration, but as we move into a new year on the calendar, looking to John 20:20-21 might give us the inspiration we need to have a successful year with the Lord.
"After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” - John 20:20-21
Happy New Year! May God bless and keep each of you in the year to come!
God loves to use outsiders...and this is not your typical Christmas Story. But, this is the story that saved the world...
"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people." - Titus 2:11
There is a road, a highway, that only God's faithful will find...and it is free from the strife, struggle, and pain of this life...because it is protected and the guide is Christ Himself.
Life truly is a Highway...that leads to God's Holy City!
"A road will be there and a way; it will be called the Holy Way." - Isaiah 35:8
We sometimes take other's "expert" opinion ... to a fault.
We take a look at the classic poem "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost and talk about our misunderstandings of things until we finally read or study for ourselves. Ultimately there is another lesson for us in the poem also.
Stay tuned.
"I am the way, the truth, and the life..." - Jesus (John 14:6)
"Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" - Amos 3:3 NKJV
How much trouble is it to meet up if you do not even make an agreement on where to meet or when? Can we walk with Christ if we do not agree with Him?
Can we find peace if we do not walk with Christ?
Why?
This question is the first and probably the last question we seek the answer to in life...which begs the question, "Do we ever find out why?"
This one wasn't easy to work through...but hopefully my experiences can be a blessing to you in the struggles we face in our days. God bless...and REJOICE!
"Rejoice in the Lord always, I say it again! REJOICE!" - Philippians 4:4
I've been asked many times over the past few days/weeks this question: "How are you at peace right now?" The answer? Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is my Lord and Savior. This week on the podcast I do my best to explain how I have found peace through Christ during this time of political division, civil unrest, and global pandemic.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6
What is it about tragedy that we are so fascinated with? What can we learn from tragedy? Are we asking the right questions? Jesus addresses this in Luke 13:1-5 and redirects the attention from the tragic situation to the need for repentance for all.
"But unless you repent, you will all perish as well." - Luke 13:5b
