Publisher's Summary:
Ronnie is a beautiful, strong-willed, and ruthless young woman. She comes off as a demure, sweet little thing. Ronnie and her clan are a low-level troop of Romany Gypsy grifters. Fraud is the family business.
She and Logan have the classic love/hate relationship. Ronnie plays him, but for Logan it is love at first sight; and for that reason he cannot escape her many charms.
This story is fast paced with more larceny than love, and plot twists that will keep you guessing.

Great story. Highly recommend!
Ronnie brings us into the lives of grifters and murderers. Ronnie is a "Romeny" but not by blood. She learned her ways from her grandfather and his many stories.
When we first meet her it is through Logan's eyes. For Logan it is love at first sight. I don't want to give too much of the story away, but this is definitely not a romance novel. The action pulls you in from the beginning.
From Seattle to San Francisco and back again, we follow Ronnie and her family. Ronnie and her plans don't quite go as expected when she is arrested by Mo, A 16 year veteran of the force. The story ends with Ronnie locked up with a roommate, and she calls her cell mate, who is a psycho that is locked up for beating her boyfriend to death in his sleep with her bare fists.
Is this the end of the Romany? Does Ronnie have another agenda? Read Ronnie II to find out more.
Kudos to check for writing a great story. (And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!)
Ronnie S. Thompson
An unusual novel, a romp through one con after another, and Logan falls for it every time. What's in it for him? The few crumbs Ronnie is willing to allow him just to keep him coming back. It doesn't hurt that she's beautiful and flirty, but she's a con and would sell her mother to score a deal.
I haven't read anything this bold and witty since the last Hunter S. Thompson novel I read in college: "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". Like Thompson's books, I wanted to put this down several times, but Ronnie conned me as well, and I came back to finish it.
Never Trust A Beautiful Woman
I really enjoyed reading "Ronnie" by Chuck Alderman. This story is action packed. It has a lot of twists and turns. Ronnie is a beautiful woman who can't be trusted. Logan falls for her cons and then towards the end Gus (a.k.a Parker) falls for her schemes. It's a fast paced read and it's very well written. I look forward to reading "Ronnie II" next.
Odd
I had a very bipolar reaction to this novel, I almost liked the characters and I almost liked the plot. Almost being the keyword. I have no time whatsoever to get comfortable with the characters before the "action" starts. She's a beautiful and flirty con artist. It's been done before and better, why anyone falls for her dibble is beyond me. I read it, simply because I'd read this author before and genuinely liked his writing style. The story, the characters, the plot falls short for me, but the skill and writing style are still evident.
Loved It!!!!
I love this author's style of writing, first person from all the character's point of view. Whether you love the main character, "Ronnie" or hate her, you will love this book. I am looking forward to the sequel!
