I read the book and immediately got results with my reach outs
Crafting an email that gets a reply isn't easy, but Molly offers tips that I didn't even consider. And guess what, they work. They also apply to speaking to people in person. It's really about being polite and offering something of value.
As soon as I finished the book, I sent my first cold email using what I learned. The person responded two days later saying they were interested in my proposal. Bam! Molly's estimated response rate for cold reach outs is 20%, but as of this writing my rate is 35%. I'm beyond pleased.
Even if you're a master communicator, you'll probably learn something in this book.
Must read for sales staff, millennials developing their career and anyone wanting to improve their business network.
I heard about this book when Molly Beck was interviewed on The Growth Show podcast and wow, I'm pleased I did.
This is such a great book for anyone who needs or wants to expand their personal network as part of their current job or to develop their career. Molly has huge personal experience and brings humility and humour to the job. She has managed to produce a book which is perfect for absolute beginners, starting with how to create a good Linked In profile and business-like email address, but also has absolute gold in it for experienced social networkers and advanced users.
I learned loads - I have 15 tape flags stuck throughout the book and two pages of "Must Do" notes and actions written at the back (see picture!). I'll be buying a lot of copies of this book for Christmas I know!
Overall the book is a fun and practical read. It's very millennial friendly - a manageable size and has boxouts for important pieces, summaries and reminders as you go, a great "TL;DR" section summarising the key points of each chapter for any busy people skipping ahead and even the occasional fun quiz to check you were listening.
An Instant Must Read
I LOVE this book. Molly has such a way of words and explaining things.
It's super easy to read and has so much to take away. So many of us know that we need to network more, but don't know how. After all, this definitely isn't anything they teach you in school. Reach Out gives you a tactical plan so you have no excuse to not try what Molly recommends.
