In this episode of While She's Away, I dive into the vibrant world of queer travel and community building. I sit down with Nora, the amazing founder of Quouch—a platform that makes sure queer people and women have safe and comfy places to stay while traveling. We chat about everything from her couch-surfing adventures in Berlin to the crucial steps she's taken to make travel safer for LGBTQIA+ folks. You'll get to hear all about the creation and impact of Quouch.
We also have a moving story from Aseel, a Palestinian woman who shares her experiences and struggles during the ongoing conflict in Palestine. Her powerful message underscores the need for global solidarity and understanding in tough times.
Join me as we explore these compelling stories, personal journeys, community empowerment, and tips for safe travel for queer folks in this enlightening episode of While She's Away.

In this week's episode, I'm taking you on a very personal journey as I unpack my recent experiences in Costa Rica. Over the past several months I've had some realizations that my constant movement has been a band-aid for deeper issues and a way to cope with life's stresses. Through this self-discovery, I delve into the idea of intentional travel and what it means to truly stay present, even when things get tough.
I'll be sharing the raw moments when travel no longer served as my escape and how it forced me to confront what I'd been avoiding. Join me as I reflect on why I've been running and how I aim to change my approach to exploring this beautiful world. Get ready to hear all about my highs and lows, the lessons learned, and how I'm striving to turn travel into a space for personal growth rather than an escape!

As travelers, we have a responsibility to be aware, educate ourselves, and most importantly speak out against genocide.
Welcome to season 3 of the While She's Away Podcast. I wish I didn't have to begin this season talking about an active genocide that is happening to the Palestinian people in Gaza, but I must. Silence is complicity at this point. So I hope, as fellow travelers and global citizens, that you take the time and listen and learn from our guest this week, Suzanne.
Suzanne Aslam is a former actress, activist, and Miss Arab USA turned writer. Suzanne helps young mothers dealing with postpartum depression. As an activist and Palestinian American, she spent time in Palestine working with a peacekeeping team and has a deep and personal understanding of the occupation.
In this episode, we talk about:
Thank you for taking the time to listen and learn from Suzanne! If you found this episode at all helpful, please share it with a friend who wants to learn more about the struggles of the Palestinian people.

It's been almost a month but ya girl is back with another episode...well actually the final episode of season 2! I don't know how a whole month of not posting an episode got away from me, but I've learned and reflected on a few things regarding this podcast and life in general. This little solo episode shares some of my recent thoughts and feelings about this podcast, traveling, and just life. So this is basically a public brain dump if you will. I still hope you find some resonance in it <3
