George never disappoints and is a favorite guest to have back on Whiskey Business.

Whiskey Business went remotely this week because we know when something’s gonna be worth the trip.

Six months ago at RAFTERS, a longtime favorite bar on Indianola in Clintonville, the kitchen came back to life with FAT ARNIES, a delicious dream brought to life by a father and sons team, Christopher Beardman, Andrew Beardman, and the dad, Chris Beardman. What’s resulted is some of BEST empanadas, burgers, subs and more that you’ll ever have!
We talked about the food, the path (it started by selling empanadas on the streets of Ecuador) and where they may go next. But for now, listen, watch and get yourself to Fat Arnies! Trust me. You’ll want to after this episode.

Whiskey Business took the holiday podcast to John Whitney’s house, our amazing videographer, as he is recovering from hip surgery. He must be on the mend, because he joined us for some Chattanooga Single Barrel Whiskey, and conversations about Christmas, kids, 2026 and more. The annual Halloween episode for Whiskey Business was a bit more low key this year, but no less “spooky.” Bucky Cutright joined us from Columbus Ghost Tours. Since our last meeting he’s added a German Village Tour and other creepy additions, but what was REALLY creepy was hearing his encounters with the paranormal as a teenager. “Hello, Bucky,” sounds normal until you hear where that message came from. YIKES! Enjoy…if…you…dare! Yeah, go on and dare. You’ll be fine.

Whiskey Business occasionally gets whisky-centric and the afternoon with Old Forester Master Taster, Melissa Rift was a good time to do it.
A sampling of Old Forester’s entire Whisky Row was a lesson in taste and history.
From first bottled bourbons, aftermaths of fires, prohibition and “medicinal” bourbons, Melissa was an excellent guest, guide and educator. Pour a favorite Old Forester of your own and join us!

The Columbus Comedy Festival returns for its second year of laughs Sept 4-7, 2025 and Henry Allen will be one of the headlining acts.
On this installment of Whiskey Business we talked about the festival, Henry’s comedy path from age 17 to present, the latest trend of “working the room” and a fun comedic Word Association test involving current and past comedians. A lot of laughs and a lot of insights into the craft and creation of stand-up comedy.

Eric Brembeck, owner and operator of STUDIO 35, one of the best independent movie theaters in Ohio, has added to the experience of movies, great pizza, and full bar with a new product: Mr. Pickle lemonade. A refreshing new lemonade with a touch of pickle brine which makes for an amazingly fun new take on lemonade. Not too sweet, and not to “pickled” he brought the new product to Whiskey Business to sample and also talk about the trials and tribulations of being an independent film house, competing with the big boys and thriving by giving movie fans MORE than just a movie to watch.
Over the years, Studio 35 has become a staple of the community and Eric is always thinking of ways to improve the experience.
