Hi everyone! Welcome to our podcast, Whispers from the Mist: Conversations from the Spiritual Byway.

In this week’s episode, Michelle is joined by her friend Bonnie D'Angelo.

Listen in as they prepare for an overnight experience at the former home (and occult museum) of legendary paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

As their trip approaches, Michelle and Bonnie take a look at the Warren House today — who owns it, what has been happening inside, and where they will be going next.

They revisit some of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s history before turning their attention to the home’s newest chapter. This chapter inclues their current owners - comedian Matt Rife and paranormal investigator and content creator Elton Castee.

They talk about Matt and Elton’s decision to purchase the Warren property, some of the unusual experiences that they've had, and what is happening with the Warren collection today.

It is important to share, that while Matt and Elton own the property, the historic Warren artifact collection remains owned by Ed and Lorraine’s daughter, Judy Spera, and her husband, Tony. Both Matt and Elton are the temporary guardians of those artifacts.

Also... While editing this episode, Michelle discovered several unusual interruptions and audio moments. One of those moments occurred while discussing an internet outage that happened during one of Elton’s live broadcasts. For your listening pleasure — we decided to leave it in.

Hi everyone, and welcome to Whispers from the Mist: Conversations from the Spiritual Byway.

This week, we’re taking a look at two well-known paranormal cases connected to Ed and Lorraine Warren: the Perron family in Rhode Island and the Snedeker family in Connecticut.

The Snedeker family’s experiences would later inspire A Haunting in Connecticut, while the Perron family’s story became the foundation for The Conjuring House.

In this episode, we talk through the reported experiences of both families, the Warrens’ involvement, and some of the questions and controversy that continue to surround both of these cases.

This episode also took an unexpected path of its own. We originally planned to record it before Michelle’s visit to the Warren House, but a combination of technology issues and life getting in the way delayed the conversation. By the time we finally sat down to record this episode, that visit had already happened—and the perspective Michelle brought into the discussion had changed along with it.

Hi everyone! Welcome to our podcast, Whispers from the Mist: Conversations from the Spiritual Byway.

In this week’s episode, we continue our exploration of Ed and Lorraine Warren by looking at two of the most well-known cases connected to their work: Amityville and the case that would later become known as “The Devil Made Me Do It.”

Both of these stories sit at the intersection between true crime and the paranormal. Michelle shares why that overlap has long captured her attention and why these cases have remained a lasting part of paranormal history and popular culture.

Amityville, New York: In 1974, six members of the DeFeo family were murdered inside their home at 112 Ocean Avenue. About a year later, George and Kathy Lutz moved into the house with their children. Shortly after moving in, they reported a series of disturbing experiences that would eventually become one of the most famous hauntings in America.

We look at what happened before the Lutz family arrived, the claims they later made about their time in the home, the involvement of Ed and Lorraine Warren, and the ways the story continued to grow through books, films, interviews, and decades of debate.

Brookfield, CT: From there, we turn to the case of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, who was charged with the 1981 killing of Alan Bono. The case became widely known because of claims that Johnson had been influenced or possessed by a demonic presence at the time he committed the crime.

We discuss the reported possession claims, the events that came before the murder, the legal case that followed it, and the challenge of separating documented facts from paranormal belief, interpretation, and the versions of the story that we have been told over time.

These are cases where the crime itself is very real, while the paranormal claims remain deeply debated. Our goal is not to tell you what to believe, but to look at the stories, the people involved, and the questions that continue to surround them.

Whether you approach these cases from a true crime perspective, a paranormal perspective, or somewhere in between, they remain two of the most talked-about stories connected to the Warren legacy.

In this week’s episode of Whispers from the Mist, we continue our exploration of Ed and Lorraine Warren by taking a closer look at their work through the lens of discernment.

The Warrens became two of the most recognizable figures in paranormal history, and their cases helped to shape the way many people think about hauntings, demonic activity, spiritual protection, and paranormal investigation.

But with a legacy like this, there has also been criticism, conflicting accounts, questions about methodology, and decades of debate over what really happened in some of their most famous cases.

In this conversation, we look at both sides.

We discuss some of the criticisms surrounding Ed and Lorraine Warren, how paranormal investigation has changed over the years, and why it is important to consider the time period in which they were working. We also explore the difference between questioning someone’s methods and dismissing their experiences entirely.

A recent YouTube interview, between paranormal investigator Jason Hawes and Stevi Etes, became an important part of this conversation. His perspective raises questions about evidence, investigation, accountability, and the responsibility paranormal investigators have when sharing extraordinary claims.

At the heart of this episode, there is discernment.

How do we remain open to experiences we may not fully understand while still asking questions?

How do we separate belief from evidence?

And how do we examine conflicting stories without automatically deciding that one side must be completely right and the other completely wrong?

For us, discernment doesn't mean immediately believing something or disbelieving it. It means remaining curious, asking thoughtful questions, considering different perspectives, and allowing room for uncertainty.
