In December 1996, Yvonne Gilford — a British nurse working on a hospital compound in Saudi Arabia — was found dead in her locked room. The violence had been sustained. The crime scene was immediately contaminated. Within days, two of her colleagues were arrested, and both confessed.
What followed was one of the most internationally charged criminal cases of the decade: a closed-door trial, a death sentence, 500 lashes, blood money, and two women who returned to the UK to sell their stories to the tabloids.
