Galatians 5:16-26 tells us that because Christ has freed us from slavery to the law and to our sinful desires, we are called to walk by the Spirit and bear fruit for God.
In this week’s Sermon Extra, Pastors Nick and Michael discuss their recent trips and then turn to Galatians 5:2–4 and Paul’s warning about being “severed from Christ.” They explore what Paul means when he says Christ can be of “no advantage” to someone and who this warning is actually addressing. They also discuss the connection between legalism and licentiousness, and how both can pull us away from living by God’s grace. Finally, they share practical ways to walk in grace and avoid both extremes.
In Galatians 5:2-15 we see that standing firm in grace means trusting in Christ alone, rejecting additions to the gospel, and using our freedom to serve in love.
In this week’s Sermon Extra, Pastors Nick and Stephen discuss how we should interpret the Bible and whether passages can have multiple meanings. They explore what allegorical interpretation is, when it may be appropriate, and how we can distinguish between a passage’s intended meaning and interpretations we bring to the text.
In Galatians 4:21-5:1 we see that those who belong to Christ are children of promise, called to stand firm in the freedom Christ provides.
In Galatians 4:1-20 we learn that if we have become God's children by faith, we are called to leave our life of slavery behind and let Christ be formed in us.
When God feels far away, we don't run from Him, we bring Him our honest hearts, keep seeking Him in the silence, and choose to rest in His unchanging love.
In 2 Kings 6:8-23 we see that when God opens our eyes to His presence, it changes the way we see—and the way we live.
God is always present and at work, but we don’t always recognize it. In this message, we learn how to see God’s fingerprints in ordinary life by looking back with gratitude, looking around with discernment, and looking ahead with faith.
God is near whether we realize it or not, but awareness leads to proper perspective, change, and the ability to move forward in God's call on our lives. Jacob had an encounter with God in Bethel that led him to conclude that God's presence had been there the whole time, but he didn't realize it. During that encounter, God promised to be with Jacob always. This message will explore what that means for you.
