A letter to the editor of Nantucket’s hometown newspaper, dated August 1942. While crossing the Nantucket Sound on the ferry to Nantucket, a reader reports a strange and unexplainable sighting among the passengers aboard.

Restoring an old Nantucket house means getting to know it intimately. For one couple, pulling up floorboards and tearing down wallpaper reveals the history of their new home’s original owner- a whaling captain who left his name hidden in unexpected places throughout the house. In some ways, his presence is still very much felt, as if he never left the house. Then again, maybe…he didn’t.

Whistle

Every parent wants to help a child in need. But when that child only appears from the beyond, things become a whole lot more complicated.

Parker is the best electrician on Nantucket Island. That’s why he was chosen to install the alarm system at the house on Mill Street. And yet, the alarm keeps going off without explanation.

But Parker knows that there are some things which lurk just beneath the surface that can’t be explained. He saw something at that house. What it was, he cannot say. But it was there.

Sometimes it’s best to make peace with the ghosts who haunt your house. Because, even a spirit likes to be invited to the party every now and again.

All the world’s a stage, including the little fishing village of ‘Sconset on Nantucket. And for Harry Woodruff, beloved member of the island’s Actors' Colony during the early 1900s, the afterlife provides one last turn on the stage of the old ‘Sconset Casino... and the chance to take a final bow.
