Portland songwriter Erin Gately wrote a brand new set of lyrics, and we asked a set of artists to turn those words into a song. Here's what we got:

Fictional stories with the author as the main character and songs about the songwriter's real life.

Listeners sent us requests for their favorite summertime songs. We talked about idioms, summer memories, and Barry Goldwater, among other things.

Songs by fictional bands that have appeared in movies since the 1970s. We also played some movie scenes we've always loved and discussed, among other things, making the world a better place, the blurry line between fiction and reality, and George C. Scott's attitude about the Oscars.

This month's show was dedicated to the theme "Something Stupid I Did That Worked Out Okay." We presented a collection of listener-created 2-minute stories around that theme, played some specially chosen songs, and talked about life and whatnot. Things were learned.

We dug into the archive for stuff that we've recorded over the years, files that've been sent to us, and a few things we've scrounged up along the way.
