WhiteLight//WhiteHeat

Marseille-based art-techno-punk artist, under his Cardinal & Nun moniker, through his 2021 album on L.I.E.S completely flipped the script, fusing gothic vocals, raw guitars and analog sounds to huge acclaim. Exclusive to Curses’ "Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX" compilation, "Freak and Weak" is another startling track from the Frenchman, where haunting vocals, reverb-drenched guitar and skeletal rhythms align to sound like something that escaped from the same sessions that produced The Cure’s Faith LP.

Exclusive to Curses’ "Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX" compilation, the darkly surreal haunting romance "Freak and Weak", WL//WH is very pleased to premiere, is another startling track from Bodjollé where haunting vocals, reverb-drenched guitar and skeletal rhythms align to sound like something that escaped from the same sessions that produced The Cure’s Faith LP.

"Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX" is the second compilation for Eskimo Recordings compiled and curated by Berlin-based Musician and DJ Luca Venezia, aka Curses, to explore the darker side of club music. Spread across 3CDs and three 2LPs Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX features a mammoth 49 tracks that join the dots between early industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle, EBM legends like Nitzer Ebb and the post-punk experiments of people like Malcolm McLaren and Big Audio Dynamite with some of the most exciting artists around today, such as Boy Harsher, Nuovo Testamento and Years of Denial.

"Chapter 2" moves the night on, and this is the sound of the clubs I love to both play and just hang out in these days, clubs where the people involved put a lot more time into digging through the crates than working on their Instagram Reels. These are places where you're as likely to find a band on stage as you are a DJ, where 80's German electro-pop by a band like Boytronic seamlessly flows into tracks like Silent Servant’s 'Non Fiction'. Timeless music that can be romantic, dreamlike and ethereal one moment, then veer into dark, industrial sounds the next.

Xiamen, China-based, Bulgarian Electro mastermind DJ and producer Petar Tassev, aka MANASYt has been rocking his own brand of Nurolektro since 2003. He’s responsible for a vast array of menacing titles on labels such as Bunker, Touchin' Bass, Kommando 6, Musar and about 40 other labels worldwide. An artist who couldn’t care less about trends or hype, and whose main driving force is that authentic passion for the genre.

——————————————————————————————————

Lunatic Rec. delivers a diverse album by Electro veteran Manasyt. On this record, the artist shows his own dystopic view on the random game of life. Black or white? Women or men? Sexuality? IQ? State? Religion? Destiny or the American Dream? The darkness of this record’s sound doesn’t really leave a choice to answer. Between fast-edged drums and off-key harmonics, you get thrown into the ups and downs of a likewise horrible as an appealing fever dream in seven sequences. The vinyl comes in a handmade screen printed full-cover, limited to 300 copies. Download code included.

The LP will be available from today, September 15, on this link https://lunaticrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-genetic-lottery

WL//WH is pleased to premiere "Guerra Fría", the opening track from the recently released debut album "Choledark" by RETROVISOR, the Minimal Dark Wave Dance music project of Cochabamba, Bolivia-based multidisciplinary artists and performers, Huascar Rodríguez and Paola Vargas.

A bitter reflection on modern's day reality, "Cold War" lists the brutal force tactics and psychological operations used by the global government to scare the public into compliance, gaining total surveillance and control.

Strobing, hypnotic, immersive dancefloor auras blend droning omens, relentless pulsating acidic buzzing bass swirls, stacked mechanical marching dance beats, industrial clangor, spatial FXs, and disorienting distorted frequencies around mysterious, aloof, spoken word warnings and distant mind-jolting tones to evoke feelings of danger, paranoia, and dread at the hands of modern dystopic oppression.

Music: Programming and Synthesizers by Huascar Rodríguez.

Vocals: Paola Vargas

Premiere of the Music Video on WL//WH blog: https://www.whitelight-whiteheat.com/2023/05/30/p94onm-iih/

Deep and cerebral Electro vibes mixing 808, Pro-1 and SH101 sounds from Buenos Aires.

Faca has its own atmosphere, traveling from nostalgia to the raw and sharp bass of his old dark synthesizers.

The two remixes signed @user_delusion and @strktur (Jade founder) take his EP to the dancefloors, where compressed drums and monstrous kicks are required!

WL//WH is pleased to premiere the opening track of "For Faith" EP "Whipped Cream feat. Gurise", a bustling and crackling Acid-tinged Electro-Funk fueled jam.

Energetic, sassy and flirtatious, "Whipped Cream" blends warm alienating synth glows, hypnotic snappy snares, crunchy kicks, jiggly and rugged prowling bass oscillations, playful acid flitters, and teasing dual male/female vocal suggestions, into a sizzling and bristling dancefloor domain of trippy retro-futuristic grooves.
