After Hamas brutally tortured and slaughtered more than 1,400 Israeli civilians and foreign nationals on October 7th, 2023, it took world governments and the mainstream media only a day or two before they began making excuses. The media said things like: Gaza has been an open air prison ever since 2005 | Gaza has been under an apartheid occupation for years. | Gaza is an open air prison. What else did you expect from the poor, suffering Palestinians (AKA Hamas) who live there? This raises the question: who really is Hamas? A Militant, anti-occupation resistance movement? A terrorist organization? Or, a group of people who are so barbaric, that calling them animals would be an embarrassment to the non-human species of the world. In the words of Former US Ambassador to Israel after he visited wounded IDF soldiers here in Israel - “let’s start by calling them barbaric monsters, and then we’ll go from there”.
