Tristan Spurlock is in his third season as the director of player development/assistant coach with the University of Iowa men’s basketball program.In his two seasons on staff, Spurlock has helped the Hawkeyes to 38 victories and two postseason appearances (1 NCAA, 1 NIT). He has coached one All-American, a Big Ten Freshman and Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year and 10 All-Big Ten honorees.During the 2023-24 season, Iowa won 19 games, including 10 in Big Ten play, to finish in a tie for sixth in the league standings. Five players earned All-Big Ten honors with Tony Perkins earning second team honors and Payton Sandfort being a third-team honoree. Owen Freeman became the second Hawkeye all-time (and first in 30 years) to be named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.In his first season on staff, Spurlock helped the Hawkeyes qualify for the NCAA Tournament with 19 wins and place fifth in the Big Ten. He helped five players achieve postseason recognition, including third-team consensus All-American Kris Murray. Jeremie Hart was named Recruiting Coordinator by Head Coach Andy Enfield. The South Garland High School alum played a pair of his collegiate seasons in Texas and started the charity "Hustle with Hart" in South Dallas, which brings in current NBA and professional players to speak to kids about basketball, education and life.Hart, a Dallas native, has coached for five seasons following a 10-year professional playing career. He joins the Mustangs after recent stints at New Mexico State (2023-24) and Kansas State (2022-23 – NCAA Elite Eight). He also coached at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (2020-22 – 2022 Elite Eight) and the London Lighting of NBL Canada (2019-20).He served as the assistant coach for player development at New Mexico State in 2023-24. Hart tracked individual player progress for Head Coach Jason Hooten, helping Femi Odukale earn All-Conference USA selection.At Kansas State, the Wildcats made an NCAA Elite Eight run, going 26-10 and finishing tied for third in the Big 12. While in Manhattan, Kansas, he learned from Head Coach, Jerome Tang, who was selected as the Werner Ladder Naismith Men's College Coach of the Year as well as the Big 12 Coach of the Year. Hart's role in developing the Wildcat guards helped K-State set the single-season mark for assists (611) while placing second in single-season points (2,742). He worked directly with All-American and All-Big 12 First Team selections Markquis Nowell and Keyontae Johnson, assisting them to become the first Kansas State duo to be named to the AP All-America team in the same season.Prior to accepting a job with K-State, Hart served two seasons as a student assistant coach for Head Coach Clif Carroll at Division III Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas, where he finished his bachelor's degree in general studies in May 2022. During his time at Mary Hardin-Baylor, the Crusaders posted a combined 44-7 overall record, including a 28-3 mark and a trip to the NCAA Division III Elite Eight in 2021-22. It marked the school's third-ever trip to the national quarterfinals and the first NCAA Tournament since 2013. Following his playing days, he started his coaching career on the staff of the London Lightning – a Canadian professional team based in Ontario. Prior to the stoppage of the 2019-20 season, Hart helped lead the Lightning to a 15-9 overall record. As a player, Hart traveled the professional circuit for 10 years for teams on four different continents (Africa, Asia, North America and South America), including a two-year stint playing for Frayles De Guasave in CIBACOPA, the top league in Mexico. His collegiate career concluded at McMurry in Abilene, Texas, in 2009-10 where he averaged 20.6 points and 9.0 rebounds to lead the War Hawks to a 17-9 record and a trip to the American Southwest Conference Tournament. He was named the ASC West Division Newcomer of the Year and was a member of the All-South Region and First Team All-ASC teams. His 536 points in 2009-10 still rank 20th on the school's single season scoring list.Hart started his college playing career at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas, in 2007-08, averaging 12.0 points and 3.0 assists as the Highlanders went 18-8 and made an appearance in the 2008 Region V Tournament. A native of Peoria, Illinois, Guyton was named the Big Ten Player of the Year as a senior in 2000 at Indiana University where he culminated a standout career with an even 2,100 points to go with 429 rebounds, 403 assists and 129 steals. He finished his tenure in Bloomington, and remains, fourth in school history in points; Guyton is currently eighth at Indiana in all-time assists. He averaged 13.6 points per game in his first season with the Hoosiers, picking up Big Ten Freshman of the Year and All-Big Ten Second Team honors in 1996-97. Guyton then shot 43.9 percent from 3-point range – he remains the school’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made (283) – and averaged 16.8 points as a First Team All-Big Ten performer as a sophomore. Following that season, he was a member of Team USA and won a gold medal at the 1998 Goodwill Games. Guyton then posted 16.0 points per game as a junior before tallying a career-high 19.7 during his senior season in which he was the conference’s Player of the Year, a First Team All-Big Ten selection. He was a unanimous All-America First Team selection of The Associated Press, USBWA, NABC and Sporting News. Playing for Head Coach Bobby Knight, Guyton helped guide Indiana to four-straight NCAA Tournaments and at least 20 wins in each of his seasons with the Hoosiers.Following his graduation from Indiana in 2000, Guyton was a second-round draft pick of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls. He played two seasons in the Windy City where he averaged 6.0 points and 1.9 assists as a rookie in 2000-01 and 5.4 points the following season. After two years with the Bulls, Guyton was a member of the Golden State Warriors in 2002-03. Guyton then embarked on a seven-year European career where he played in Italy, Israel, Croatia, Greece, Sweden and Qatar before retiring as a player in 2010. He returned stateside and entered the coaching ranks at Illinois Central College in his native Peoria where he also worked in the school’s guidance and retention offices while assisting the diversity department to increase minority enrollment and retention while providing early academic intervention. Guyton assisted with his alma mater’s team at Peoria High School from 2012-14 and was the head coach of the Central Illinois Drive (now the Bloomington Flex) of the Premier Basketball League (PBL) for three seasons (2012-15). There, he led the professional team to three PBL championships while being named the association’s Coach of the Year in both 2012 and 2013. After winning his third PBL title as a coach, Guyton joined the NBA G League’s Windy City Bulls as an assistant coach for the 2016-17 campaign

Kenyon, 48 and a Battle Creek, MI native, came to the University of Iowa in 1992. Kenyon was a four-year starter for the Iowa Men's Basketball team. Kenyon was the first player in Iowa Men’s Basketball history to have over 1000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 steals.Kenyon spent three years as an assistant men’s coach at Indian Hills Community College, five years as an assistant boys coach at Prairie and has been coaching girls/boys AAU basketball for more than 15 years. Currently, Kenyon is the girl's head varsity coach at Cedar Rapids Prairie HS.In addition to coaching, Kenyon is the Owner of Murray Legacy Management, Executive Director of the Murray Family Foundation, and host of "The Leave Your Legacy Podcast." Kenyon and his wife Michelle have been married 23 years and are proud parents of Demetrius (27), Kris (22), Keegan (22) and McKenna (16). They reside in Cedar Rapids, IA.

A 1992 Bellevue West graduate, Strickland advanced to the NBA after standout high school and collegiate careers in Nebraska. At Bellevue West, Strickland starred in football, basketball and baseball and was the 1992 prep athlete of the year. He earned all-state honors in all three sports and led Bellevue West’s basketball team to three straight state tournaments, including a runner-up finish in 1991. He was a four-year letterman in basketball for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, starting for three years. He was the Big Eight Freshman of the Year in 1983 and was three-time All Big-eight defensive team selection. He played professionally for the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Vancouver Grizzlies, Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks.

Erick Strickland ended his four-year career at Nebraska as the sixth leading scorer in NU history, with 1,586 career points.
