When there is a despotic regime that limits freedom of speech, for some very odd reason, we find that the first Western songs sold in those countries were produced by gay, pop icons, specifically Wham! and Freddie Mercury. We don’t know why but we find this interesting and explore in this episode. Also, we talk about apartheid South Africa and the secret fame of Sixto Rodriguez.
