The most catastrophically wounded survivor in the September 11th attacks 82.5% total body burn, Lauren battled against all odds to emerge from the fires. A world-renowned role model for her resilience and fortitude surmounting personal and professional challenges. Lauren had a successful Wall Street career starting at Lehman Brothers and is a former partner and managing director at Cantor Fitzgerald.
Lauren was named by President Barack Obama as the personification of American resilience. The New York Times called her an “international symbol of hope and courage.” Her resilience and drive have been chronicled globally. She is the recipient of numerous honors in celebration of her strength and inspiration, including a Glamour Woman of the Year. CNN named her one of the most intriguing newsmakers of their first 25 years.
Lauren went on to write The New York Times best-selling memoir, Unmeasured Strength and she is the subject of the NYT bestseller Love Greg and Lauren. Manning has an MS in Public Health, Narrative Medicine from Columbia University, and has an upcoming publication of Ricochet: Patients and Clinicians, Unintended Victims in the Friendly Fire of American Healthcare Reform.
