"The plague of racism is insidious, entering in our minds as smoothly and quietly and invisibly as floating airborne microbes enter into our bodies to find lifelong purchase in our bloodstreams." -Maya Angelou
Or as a fellow peaceful protester's sign read the other day, "Racism is also a pandemic."
When we avoid talking to our (white) children about race, we perpetuate this ongoing plague. They will then grow up ill-equipped to handle it when they do confront, witness, and participate in injustice in their lives.

If you are like me and most people on the planet, you have had a tantrum, flipped lid, or as my mother in law says, hissy fit. You have probably also seen someone else, maybe your child lose it too. It happens. At certain stages it happens a lot.
In this podcast, we talk all about flipped lids (tantrums). We talk about what is happening in the brain, what we can do to prevent it, and how we can handle it when our lid or our's or our child's is flipped.
