In this episode, I sit down with my dear friend Remi, the new host of Life on Side B, to talk about the current state of trans inclusion in the Side B community, from the fracturing we’re seeing to why so many conversations about trans people are happening without trans people in the room. We dig into why a Side B sexual ethic can’t simply be copied and pasted onto the trans experience, the “LGB without the T” narrative that erases trans leadership in queer history, and how gay men’s internalized homophobia and discomfort with femininity can fuel transphobia. Along the way, we talk about healing and minority fatigue, and Remi shares a sneak peek at what’s coming in the new season of Life on Side B.
