We’re back with part two, and this time the questions range even further. This conversation includes discussions of sex education — seriously, who’s going to do it? — the intimate relationship between power and sexual expression; and, the ways in which we frame and understand confusing and even unwanted sexual experiences that occur in youth. You all know how to ask questions.

Welcome to part one of a two part attempt to address your Qs with As. Firstly, what are our wet dreams telling us? Inquiring minds want to know. Secondly, why are we jealous? Not about the wet dreams, necessarily, but in relationships. What is the jealousy we are experiencing really showing us? Understanding that it is not a feeling to manage or control, we discuss the ways in which jealousy can deepen our understanding of what we truly want, and why. We also discuss the importance of not trying to twist oneself into a pretzel.

This episode is a companion to our early episodes on embodiment. We wanted to get into what it’s really like to feel disconnected from one’s body, and how those feelings manifest and change from puberty into adulthood. Specifically, we talk about issues around body image; how bodies are affected by major decisions we make, or don’t make, in our lives; and the impact of trauma on the ways in which we view our physical bodies. We also talk about how this all relates to sex, given that this indeed a sex podcast.

It’s not you, it’s us... This week’s episode is a discussion of the ways in which relationships change. The good, the bad, and the overly complicated. Specifically, we touch on the role that truth plays, leading up to and during a relationship transition; the problems with seeing the transition of a relationship as a failure; the limitations imposed by euphemistic relationship terminology; and the ways in which we can, and do, transition relationships without in fact ending them at all.

This week we dip our toes into some incredibly vast pools. This conversation includes discussions of: what happens when the private becomes public; Only Fans; the complexities of the porn industry; the power of imagination; and our personal experiences of porn and how our opinions of it, and engagement with it, have evolved over time. Xtina makes her way into the conversation.

For our dirty thirty (wooo!), we discussed the complexities of maturing sexual energy. Specifically, the ways in which sex education, or the lack thereof, impacts our understanding of our own sexuality; what happens when we project a strong sense of sexual understanding that we don’t actually have; and the importance of open, vulnerable communication — especially when it’s awkward — as a tool for self knowing. We also nail down the problem with dating apps.

We honestly had no idea this episode would extend as far as it did when we turned on the mics, but such is the nature of this type of unbridled conversation. Topics discussed include: sexual acts as "bases," and the shift toward intimacy as a true gauge of experience; the concept of reciprocity in sexual relationships; male desire, and the issues that arise for everybody when we pathologize it. We’re really earning our ‘explicit’ rating with this one.

This episode is about the relationship structure to which we inevitably compare all other relationship structures. We discuss the difference between actively choosing versus assuming what our relationships will look like, as well as the importance and power of this sort of intentionality; the downsides of passive feelings of safety and security between partners; and what periods of stagnancy mean, or don’t mean. We also acknowledge that since we made it past episode 27, this podcast is officially in its Saturn return...

We’re kickin’ off this wild new year with another round of your questions. We love hearing from you, and this batch of inquiries did not disappoint. Themes covered in this episode include: intrusive sexual thoughts, sexual shyness, what it means to fully step into intimacy, the journey (not the destination) of sexual embodiment, and sexual incompatibility within a monogamous relationship structure. We also assign homework in the form of a music video recommendation.

On this sacred day — the two-year anniversary of the friendship that birthed this podcast — we do another deep exploration of what it means to be a w***e. This conversation includes discussions of: pornstar-like friendship, dominatrix dynamics, w***e as a derogatory term as well as the ancestral resonance of the word w***e, and more! This episode also includes an ASMR style break (not, technically) brought to you by Alter Eco… you’re welcome?
