Dave, Justin, and Ashley discuss Mother/Android, the #1 show on Netflix this week. Here’s the official synopsis: In a post-apocalyptic world rocked by a violent android uprising, a young pregnant woman and her boyfriend desperately search for safety. Dave was disillusioned at the meandering pace of this lackluster take on the AI uprising genre, and could not understand why nobody realized that guy was an android. Ashley has important safety tips for heavily pregnant women on dirt bikes. Justin could not figure out what these people had been eating for the last 9 months, why they were so obsessed with All Stars (the most useless shoe to have on during the apocalypse), or why they couldn't stop talking about boats.
Should parents send their kids back to school during the omicron wave of the covid-19 pandemic?
Dave and Justin and Ashley discuss Cobra Kai, the #1 show on Netflix this week. Here’s the official synopsis: Thirty four years after events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, a down-and-out Johnny Lawrence seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo, reigniting his rivalry with a now successful Daniel LaRusso. As Gen-Xers, Dave and Justin have never been more pandered to in their entire live. But they both agreed that it was worth it, even if Dave was personally attacked by the choice to have Johnny end up in the trades. Ashley hated episode 1, but enjoyed the series more as it went along. But she's just not able to feel the same love for Johnny and Daniel as Dave and Justin do. I mean, Dave ended up taking karate and pursing a life-long love of martial arts after seeing the original film for Miyagi's sake!
Dave and Justin discuss Don't look Up, the #1 show on Netflix this week. Here’s the official synopsis: Two low-level astronomers must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet Earth. Ashley was deeply affected by this film, and spent some time weeping on the bathroom floor after watching it. Dave came away feeling bad for scientists, and all the crap they have to deal with. Justin felt seen.

Dave and Justin discuss The Witcher, Season 2, Episode 1, the #1 show on Netflix this week. Here’s the official synopsis: Geralt sets off with Ciri on a journey that leads him to an old friend; after the Battle of Sodden, Tissaia shows no mercy in her search for information. Jake Hanlon (from Why Are People Listening To This?) joins to share his vast fantasy worldbuilding wisdom. Ashley has never been more riled up about a television show and has hot takes for days thanks to her love of the source material. Dave and Justin are confused by most everything happening on screen, and simply do not have the emotional capacity to invest themselves in yet another sword and sorcery fantasy world.

What is the rationale behind the supermarket playing Elvis and Beach Boys music in the cart vestibule but not in the main part of the store?
Dave and Justin discuss The Unforgivable, the #1 show on Netflix this week. Here’s the official synopsis: Ruth Slater, a woman released from prison after serving a sentence for a violent crime and attempts to re-enter society. She must try to put her life back together again in a world that refuses to forgive her past. Dave has high praise for the depiction of drywall installation in this film. Ashley hated the “happy” ending and the scene where people were "bangin' nasties." Justin agrees with Sandra Bullock that comedy films are where it’s at from here on in.
Dave and Justin discuss A Castle for Christmas, the #1 Christmas show on Netflix this week. Here’s the official synopsis: To escape a scandal, a bestselling author journeys to Scotland, where she falls in love with a castle -- and faces off with the grumpy duke who owns it. Laura joins us for this episode where she repeatedly expresses her desire for more kilts. Kailin also joins to discuss her love of the Brooke Shields/ Drew Barrymore out-takes. Ashley’s Scottish accent beats the pants (kilt?) off of Cary Elwes', Dave joins a knitting choir, and Justin goes on a rant about horses and Irish trad music.
Dave and Justin discuss Hellbound, the #1 show on Netflix this week. Here's the official synopsis: Unearthly beings deliver condemnations, sending individuals to hell and giving rise to a religious group founded on the idea of divine justice. Dave is baffled by the “smoke gorillas,” whereas Justin thinks he understands what’s going on, but ultimately realizes he’d be more in his comfort zone reviewing old episodes of A.L.F. After teasing everyone for a full 45 minutes, Ashley FINALLY explains what a “webtoon” is.
