In this episode we have a lovely light chat on a very heavy subject - mental illness - with the courageous and brave Simon Pascu.  Simon is the CEO of a communications company under the umbrella of ACN and he is very passionate about helping others in the multi-level marketing arena.  Simon enlightens us with his Bipolar and past depression journey and how these times have shifted and helped shape his life to what it is today.  Simon realises that he deserves more in life and that the only person that can help him with this - is himself and taking care of his 'self' so he can take care of others.  Simon is adamant he will not let the diagnosis of Bipolar or having depression take over his life. Welcome to the very first episode of 'Why I Am Still Standing' where a Polynesian sister shares a table with her South African sister, to go deep into the horrific atrocities Thandeka Mdunyelwa faced from her past.  Although thousands of miles apart we are bound together for life, sharing not only similarities in our family violence journeys but also having a fierce and wild love of God.  

Thandeka is an extraordinary woman - a wife, mum of 3, entrepreneur and leading Pastor in her local community of Johannesburg, South Africa.  She recalls deep parts of her soul, never before shared publicly, so others will see this platform as a stepping stone and openly share why they are still standing. 

Words that are deliberate and pure carry Thandeka through the atrocities she faced with her then partner/husband, mother and the abusive males in her community.  "I thought I was going to die and blacked out..." Thandeka recalls vividly after being beaten and violated multiple times and then thrown into a shallow grave.  Listen to more of Thandeka's harrowing story as it is truly captivating and shows her remarkable courage, grit and power.  

Technical glitches ends this Podcast, however, rest assured we will hear Thandeka’s roaring voice for Part 2 of her awe-inspiring life in the near future, where she will share with us the deep love she has for her 3 children and her now loving husband, Nkosinathi Mdunyelwa.  We also explore her paradise-like life now which is a far cry from the heinous acts suffered during this episode.
