Why Press Play

On this episode we talk about a backwards running masterpiece, Memento; the movie that carved out Christopher Nolan's indellible mark on Hollywood with filmmaker Anthony Downes.

This is one of the 21st centuries most original films, where we find Guy Pearse suffering from a form of short term memory loss and we experience this with him by way of a disjointed and non-chronological story line in the film. An amazing supporting cast top this movie right off including Joe Pantoliano and Carrie Anne Moss. Check out this episode and then go watch this if you havn't!

On this episode we talk about the 1987 cult classic Monster Squad with Steve Elliott @lancehandsome. A commercial flop, Monster Squad has had a resurgence in the Comic Con era and we try to unravel the reasons this movie is just so good.

We talk about how cool Rudy is and how human Fred Dekker made him look, about Fat Kid (Horace) and his transition to bad ass, and how movie tropes and kitsch movie monsters from the old days of movies got a fresh run out in this classic film.
