Laila Alfadhli from the University of Ottawa's Translational and Molecular Medicine program interviews Dr. Mary-Ellen Harper. Dr. Harper is the university research chair in mitochondrial bioenergetics, director of the Metabolomics Advanced Training and International Exchange (MATRIX) program, and director (Interim) of the Ottawa Institute of System Biology. In this episode, Dr. Harper provides a general overview of the research conducted in her lab, discusses translating mechanistic research to clinical conditions, and gives insight into why she wrote some of her research articles.
