That’s to say nothing of the dangers posed by those dubbed “special interest aliens” who originate from countries with a terrorism nexus.  As the numbers attempting to cross steadily expand and alongside the thriving business of Cartels exploiting people for drug trafficking, sex trafficking, and forced labor; in DC the matter of border security remains hotly politically weaponized.   “We inherited a mess,” Democrats are saying; while seasoned border security professionals condemn the drastic changes of the new administration. Amid the struggle of politicians for legitimacy, the wellbeing of Americans and would-be migrants alike seems to have fallen by the wayside.

Before becoming President, Biden pledged to create a pathway for over 11 million undocumented people to gain U.S. citizenship. Such words are reportedly being used by smugglers to entice people to  cross the border illegally into the U.S. Cochise County Sheriff, Mark Dannels gives his ground-level take on the South West border crisis, which he connects to flawed border policy.  Those who survive crossing the border can remain under the control of the cartels while in the U.S., Dannels says. The so called “more humane” immigration policies of the new administration are not proving more humane for these people, he suggests.  In the past two months, 108,000 people have been apprehended crossing the Rio Grande illegally; whereas only 90,000 were arrested for the whole of 2020. Moreover, February saw a jump of 23,000 in the number of illegal-crossing apprehensions at the South West border.

The Democrats are passing a $1.9 Trillion COVID-19 relief bill, with only 9% allocated to combating the virus; Big Tech censorship of conservatives continues unchecked, and Biden’s failure to boycott the Beijing Olympics, despite the CCP’s genocide of the Uyghur—were among Trump and other leading Republicans’ targets for criticism.   Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.) wants states to fight the radical Democratic agenda that’s seeing transgender men competing in women’s sports; minimum wage raised to $15, potentially costing 1.5 million jobs and a $15 billion bridge being built between New York and Canada. With Democrats dominating both houses of parliament, blocking the progressive overhaul of America could rest with the states.

Rapper of Cuban descent, Pitbull said that Fidel Castro would be stunned to see the erosion of American freedoms if he were alive today. Referring to Big Tech censorship, as well as perhaps the business and social lockdowns in response to COVID-19, Pitbull said these things “smell like communism.” He added that Castro would be jealous of how quickly and broadly authoritarian governments and companies have managed to wield control over the people in the name of ‘pandemic safety.’  In the wake of the second impeachment hearing, one of Trump’s lawyers, Michael T Van der veen, is criticizing the media for its ulterior motives in fueling the costly and unnecessary legal process. “You are bloodthirsty for ratings,” he said, accusing media of dividing America ultimately to boost their revenue.

“They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them,” former “Mandalorian” star, Gina Carano said yesterday, after being picked up for a new movie project with Ben Shapiro’s “The Daily Wire.” Carano was fired by Disney’s for a ‘politically sensitive’ tweet earlier in the week. Her new career opportunity with “The Daily Wire” goes to show that standing up to the ‘authoritarian Hollywood mob’ can ultimately work in your favor.  Of course Yoda would be turning over in his grave if he new that the new custodians of the Star Wars franchise, Disney, were clamping down on freedom of speech ala The Evil Galactic Empire. The irony was hardly wasted on Shapiro, who said that Hollywood was building them — referring more or less to conservatives — “the X-wing to take down their Death Star.”  And in other news, Joe Biden appears, at best, to be firmly planted on the fence in regard to the uncivilized conduct of the Chinese Communist Party. Supposed plans for the Biden admin to meet with U.S. allies to discuss a comprehensive plan for dealing with the CCP are yet to come to fruition. Meanwhile, those crazy comrades of the Red Dragon, which kept the contagiousness of COVID-19 to themselves, have incited violence on American streets, and are pushing their weight around in the South China Sea, are being decidedly unabashed about their agenda to rule the world.

More than 75 years on, people still turn to George Orwell’s classic dystopian visions of totalitarianism, “Animal Farm” and “1984” to better understand modern-day threats to our basic freedoms. Mirroring the events of the Russian Revolution, “Animal Farm” begins with the promise of a “bright, utopian future” for all the animals if they will only revolt to break from the shackles of human ownership. What happens next though reflects an all too common historical pattern, marked by deceit, betrayal and bloodshed.  Our basic freedoms are under threat here in America. People in many other Western countries face a similar situation. One critical part of surviving this uncertain and dangerous time, is to understand the disguised forces of tyranny that we’re up against. Orwell’s Animal Farm does a good job of laying out the modus operandi of communists. Their methods haven’t changed that much over time. However, by understanding their playbook, we can see through the fake promises and fake veneer to know them by their conduct, and stand against them.

We’ve entered an era in which the freedoms enshrined in America’s constitution are no longer guaranteed. More so than ever it’s a time for those who value freedom, justice and constitutional rule of law to make a stand against the erosion of those founding principles. Around this country, we’re seeing many examples of brave patriots place their careers, their livelihoods and even the safety of theirselves and their families at risk to speak out against suppression of basic freedoms. Texan-born actor, Gina Carano has been fired from her role in the Disney owned Star Wars production — ‘The Mandalorian,’ for making her political views known on social media.  Carano was so bold as to compare the targeting of people with “different political views” to the hatred incited by the Nazis in Germany against Jews. She said that through fostering widespread antisemitism, Nazi’s gained the societal permission for the atrocities they went onto commit. Curiously, while Disney considers Carano’s words to be so offensive as to warrant her firing; they didn’t consider the Chinese Communist Party’s genocide against the Uyghur in Xinjiang so offensive as to avoid recently filming “Mulan” there, and endorsing communist-run China as a go-to production site.
