The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is quietly altering its glowing projections of China’s economy into 2022 and beyond to a more realistic appraisal. Beijing authorities recently held a closed-door meeting of the Central Economic Work Conference, during which Xi Jinping revealed that China's economy is in dire straits. What he neglected to mention is that the CCP is all but wholly responsible for the country’s economic distress. That in itself, tells you where you are,” says investigative journalist Lee Smith, commenting on the alleged detention of a woman in Darwin, Australia in a ‘quarantine’ facility, without a positive Covid-19 result.  In this Episode, I’m joined by Lee (‘The Epoch Times,’ ‘The Tablet’), to look at why Covid-19 policy and media have us feeling often hopeless, divided, and socially isolated.  In Darwin, Hayley Hodgson’s license plate was tracked via video surveillance after visiting a friend, diagnosed with Covid-19. Recently, the world’s focus has been directed heavily towards the U.S. hosted ‘Summit for Democracy’. However, the phone call between President Biden and Russian President, Vladimir Putin on the eve of the Summit, warrants as much, if not more attention.  Russia presently has at least 70,000 troops stationed at its border with Ukraine, with the number steadily growing. How much sway do the U.S. and NATO really have to deter a Russian invasion of Ukraine?  I look at three key motives for ‘taking Ukraine’ that may just compel Putin to go to war. At the time of publishing, the U.K. and Canada are the latest countries to join the diplomatic Boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics. This comes just days after the White House’s corresponding announcement. The U.S. cited persecution of Uyghur in Xinjiang as the primary reason for its action. But, are there other motives underlying its stand against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) at this time? “Where is Peng Shuai?” Pressure upon the Chinese Communist Party to present legitimate proof that Peng Shuai is safe and free to speak continues to mount. By and large, the seemingly-choreographed photos and videos that the Party has released have failed to quell international concern.
