In the first episode of season 2 of Wielding Legacy, I'm talking with Jennifer Constant. A multi 6 figure entrepreneur, a mum to 2 and part of a Freedom Loving Nomadic Family.
In this episode of Wielding Legacy, we have lessons in creating a legacy that might be away from the common experience of your family and friends. I’ve known Jennifer for many many years and indeed our first conversation was filled with an experience of her nonconformist life.
What is so interesting about Jennifer is like many she has an outwardly successful life, Associate Director of Fundraising for 6 years, a nice house in an expensive city, nice cars and nice life – but she did something different.
Jennifer and her husband plus their 1-year-old son - at the time - sold their house and all their belongings, swapping it for a motorhome, travelled so far around 35 countries and also set up and built 3 businesses that today bring in revenue of multi 6 figures, and earns 10 times her yearly salary all whilst living a freedom life on her own terms.

Are you looking for a disposable fix to make you feel good in the shortest time possible, such as buying an imitation print from Ikea to implementing a 30 minute make over hack to your walls.

A legacy that isn’t linear with a predicted path, but rather cyclical in it’s approach for you never know when the hardships and work of today because the wisdom of the future.
So my question to you if you think of the present as a stewardship for the future, how are you using that stewardship?
Are you seeking the instant gratification that the present day you feels drawn to?
When it comes to reading the word perfectionist fantasies my long experience has shown me that 2 responses normally happen.
The nod, that somewhere in your stomach you know that this is something for you. Or the “I’m curious” but it doesn’t land with you straight away.
So what are perfectionist fantasies?
Before we dive in here, let’s go back a stage to what is the problem with having perfectionist fantasies? As such a perfectionist fantasy is a longed-for illusion that can keep you stuck in a negative benefit frustration cycle.
You believe that it is only your illusory perfect self who can accomplish goals, once perfection has been achieved.
Or you believe that only the perfect launch, perfect messaging, perfect USP, perfect copy, perfect audience build, perfect audience identification, perfect need qualify.. will lead to the results that you crave.
I have also seen this emerge with corporate clients and leadership coaching, whereby the client is:
In essence, the perfectionist fantasy can be linked to:
The conclusion from the article so far could be a net positive from your perspective, all traits that help you create the legacy you desire. Perfectionist fantasies can be self-motivating, a towards motivation to help you overcome challenges and achieve the success you crave.

This episode can be triggering for some, as today we are talking about ‘Leaving a Legacy’ as a childless person, especially when childless not by choice.
I know this can be a terribly difficult topic for those who are part of the community of childless not by choice and those who know people who are, and don't know what to say.

I am very qualified to talk about, being visible as an introvert. When I talk about introversion, and being an introvert, people are often shocked. But you do: - TEDx talks - Host your own events - Network with industry leaders And yes that is all true, but I am an introvert to my core. How do I know? Think of it like this... Two people go to an event, for the introvert, they experience it as the battery draining down the more they are around people. For an extrovert, at the same event the battery is being charged when they are around people. This is really just a metaphor for what is happening at a neurobiological level with introverts and extroverts, and the fact they literally having different nervous systems.
I want you to think of it like this; before we can hold ourselves to a higher standard and take that extra step, we need to have the base line standard. Whether it is fitness or in business, do you know your base line? Do you know how many hours per week is your optimum to work? Do you know your preferred high intensity fitness duration? Which ever medium/ tactic/ or area of your life you are thinking about taking the extra step, do you know the base line?
