Ever feel like you’re somewhere between the person you’ve been and the person you’re becoming? Like you’re trying to figure out what’s next while life keeps moving, whether you’re ready or not?
Life is a work in progress. In this episode, we’re getting into the messy, funny, unpredictable reality of being under construction. The plans we make, the paths we take, the people who shape us, and learning to appreciate where you are without giving up on where you want to go.
From everyday life and personal growth to chasing dreams, coaching kids, and figuring out what the next chapter looks like, it’s a reminder that you don’t need to have everything figured out to keep moving forward. Sometimes you just have to show up, trust the process, and keep building.
You’re not finished. You’re not stuck. You’re under construction.
Happy Birthday, Pops.
What are we chasing?
More money?
More success?
More attention?
The next opportunity?
The next version of ourselves?
And what happens when we finally get there?
Maybe the real question isn’t what’s next.
Maybe it’s whether we’re paying attention to where we are right now.
How much of life do we miss because we’re too busy chasing the next thing?
What is it about October that makes everything feel a little bigger?
The games matter more.
The nights get colder.
Old memories come back.
Suddenly everybody has a team, a place to watch, something to eat, something to drink, and a reason to get together.
High Hopes is about that feeling.
It’s baseball, family, the East Coast, old neighborhood memories, traditions, getting together, talking shit, getting a little crazy, and remembering why certain moments stay with us long after they’re over.
Sometimes the best part isn’t knowing how the story ends.
It’s being there when it happens.
The clock is ticking, life is moving, and somehow everything starts coming together.
Sometimes the kids are learning, making mistakes, laughing, battling, and figuring things out one play at a time.
Sometimes you walk away without the result you wanted and realize you still won.
That’s coaching. That’s kids. That’s life.
And sometimes the best moments are the ones you never saw coming.
What makes us different?
What are the things that quietly shape who we become, long before we ever stop to think about them?
The experiences, the people, the choices, the mistakes, the little things we carry with us.
Sometimes we spend so much time thinking about what needs to change that we forget to recognize what’s already there.
Maybe the things that set us apart aren’t always obvious.
Maybe we just need to pay attention.
