The world has gone insane.

Hatred, violence, war…. raining down on each other.

The wrath of madness infecting and upending everything.

Mad Emperor disease running like rancid slurry from the top down.

Filling the tributaries of our hearts and minds with self righteousness, fear, and suspicion.

Making us ravenous for sustenance for the voracious appetite of unchecked ego.

It fills the spaces in between.

The ghost in the machine putting just the right smoke in front of just the right mirrors to enhance and magnify the required distortion.

The Darkness is having its way with Us.

Native Americans had a name for this ancient affliction of humanity.

They called it Wetiko.

A psychic virus of the Soul.

Indigenous people have been tracking this phenomena for centuries.

Naming the unnamable thing that renders us unable to see and hear Truth, to walk in love and kindness, to remember Who We Are.

We are at critical mass with this epidemic.

If we are to succeed at Uniting the Factions we will have to get up close and personal with what is Between Us.

We are being called to bring the light of Awareness to the most shadowy of shadow places.

To turn toward the evil that is masking itself behind our sisters' and brothers' faces.

What is this plague that is upon us and is there an antidote?

I have been disturbed this week by some striking examples of the continued factionalization of our collective through interpersonal violence in the form of political correctness, social media outrage, and holier than thou, good old fashioned shaming.

It’s rough to watch the drum beat of “Oh No she didn’t!” reach crescendo pitch as the next witch is brought forward for trial by Facebook.

What are we doing?

Are some of us blessed with special insight that gives us unique permission to call out the egregious ignorance of our brothers and sisters?

If we can prove our own victimhood beyond a shadow of a doubt (at least in our mind) do we have a free pass to make others pay for their privilege or oversight?

Since the world seems to be getting meaner and meaner, do we have a green light to embrace the aggression of our oppressors and unleash it on each other?

What is Real?

What is worth fighting for?

Are you part of the problem or part of the solution?

Obligation, politeness, fear, judgment, placation, disappointment - standing in as sentries against bringing our best Selves to the table.

I’ll bring mine if you bring yours.

No… you first.

It’s an epic game of Texas Hold ‘Em where no ever truly Folds.

Without knowing it, we become completely dependent on the the reactions of others to dictate our movements through the world.

Our creativity becomes hobbled by the abdication of our sovereignty in favor of maintaining connection.

The question is — to what level we are Aware of that…

Or Not.

I have always been deeply attuned to Stories.

I love reading them, listening to them, watching them, being seduced by them.

As I’ve grown, I’ve become adept at telling them and even better at Deconstructing them.
Reading between the lines as people share their story about who they are, where they’ve been, or what has happened to them.

I am a genius at listening through the extraneous details and helping people to step outside of their stories.

To see what is True.

This work is Who I Am.

Or rather… Who I’ve Been.

It seems another round of Medicine is up for consideration around it.

Despite (or rather because of) my affinity for dismantling Story, I am now being guided to actually Create them.

Not by way of teaching (which I’d be totally cool with), or publishing (which I have done in the past,) but by way of shaping my own “reality.”

Telling stories about fun and pleasure.

Dreaming into fantasy and role play.

Storytelling as a Creative act.

I am hitting major pockets of resistance in my system as I sift through the unconscious layers I have constructed against tricking people, acting, pretending, losing myself, and reorienting my compass of Truth and Knowing.

We are all ALWAYS telling a story. (Even if the story is that we’re NOT telling a story…)

Fools telling stories.

Tricking ourselves and each other in harmless and not so harmless ways.

The story is not the problem.

Stories are actually Fuel for the spaceship.

Getting STUCK in the story is the problem.

Getting lost in a construct. Allowing it to calcify as identity makes us forget who we Truly are.
Meaning-Making-Story-Tellers.

Our Wholeness lies in having BOTH gears - telling a story and letting it go at the same time.
Embracing the wholeness of Our Role as the Grand Master of Ceremonies.

The Cosmic Minstrel.

How have I become the man behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz… pretending it isn’t me who is Making. All. This. Shit. Up?

The most convincing story we tell ourselves is…

I’m not making this up.

This is Real.

We might even cultivate identities as Truth Tellers to convince ourselves and others that the buck stops here.

Until it doesn’t.

It’s my Birthday week!

Celebrating the start of my 46th year around the sun, I have never felt more vibrant, alive, or whole.
There is so much moving through me, wanting to be Expressed. It feels really juicy to be me right now.

As fate would have it, my birthday fell on Wild Soul Medicine Radio day this week, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.


I filled my day with things that bring me joy and pleasure, and delivering an edgy, loving, Soul transmission from my heart to yours is at the top of that list.

We are including Men in the Temple.

I am following my Guidance on this one.

I don’t know that I am ready or that I know how to do this.

(I certainly DON’T know how to do it perfectly.)

And saying Yes to it is bringing forward new places in me that require tending and awareness.

It is interrupting my old flows and habits and scratching the record on pretty much all the ways we have been business as usual around here for the last 15 years.

That is the beautiful Gift of evolution.

It continues to pull you forward toward the places you haven’t yet gone.

Stretching you into the Inclusion of new parts (of yourself and others) that you haven’t yet Known.
The ego throws a tantrum every time…

It waves warning flags of separation, loss, fear, and resistance.

Busily crafting the illusion that if we let go of Who We Have Been we will somehow be less than, diminished, unsafe.

When in Truth, we are really moving closer to Who We Actually ARE.

It’s Big Picture time.

Visioning into where we are going and mapping the terrain of how we’ll get there.

As we step back and survey the land, we wonder into the larger plan and dream of how we might fit into it.

In the last decade or so, I have not been a fan of planning ahead.

Devoted to practicing in the Now moment, it seemed incongruent to waste energy on what I’d like to have happen down the road.

Ask my support staff…

Lou (our genius tech master) has had to adapt to receiving the e-mail content for the week’s Wild Soul Medicine episode within an hour of it airing.

Mary Jo (our online business manager) spent 18 months at the ready for the next launch (which so far hasn’t actually happened.)

I needed this time.

There was much to unravel around my Type A, controlling, business Creatrix nature.

Learning to take my hands off the wheel and settle into the myopic rewiring of my system.

Getting up close and personal with my Ways.

Also my blocks, patterns, and disowned parts.

There is a lot to See.

Growing my capacity to Be With.

To Include.

All of It.

It continues to be the foundation of my Practice and is the foundation of the work of this Temple.

And just recently as my vision became so completely Inwardly focused that my eyes actually crossed right in the center of my head…

The portal opened for me to do Both.

Seeing.

In and Out, Far and Near, Here and There.

The View is Breathtaking.
