  • 1990: The Bronx Warriors (1990: I guerrieri del Bronx, Enzo G. Castellari, 1982)

Join us as we get our skates on and head into the Bronx for one of Italy's most enjoyable New York-set dystopian future movies,The Bronx Warriors! In this episode we ponder why no one seems to have a gun, why there were so few light-up skulls for the bikers, and why we can't all have drummers playing in the background during difficult moments.

For more information on Mark Gregory, aka Marco De Gregorio, see the excellent Cinema Italiano Database.

  • Interview with Luigi Cozzi!

To bring our Luigi Cozzi season to a close we talk to the man himself, down the line from Profundo Rosso in Rome. The zoom quality isn't great, but hopefully you can still enjoy this free-wheeling chat with the great man. Amongst other things we talk about The Killer Must Kill Again, Starcrash & Starcrash II, Hercules, Blood on Méliès Moon and Sinbad, as well as his love of sci-fi and his relationship with Antonio Margheriti.

If you are ever in Rome do go and visit Luigi at his Profundo Rosso shop and check out the Dario Argento museum in his creepy basement dungeon.

  • The 10th Victim (La decima vittima, Elio Petri, 1965)

Welcome to Season 5! Join Rod and Adrian as they jump into their tricked-out dune buggies for a mad ride into the irradiated wasteland. Yes, it's the Pasta-Pocalypse, or more accurately, Italian films set in a dystopian future. In this first episode they check out the pop art masterpiece that is The 10th Victim (Elio Petri, 1965), starring Ursula Andress and Marcello Mastroianni. It's bright, it's action-packed, and it's crammed with subtle digs at politics and consumerism!

  • The Black Cat (1989) & Blood on Méliès' Moon (2016)

As the Luigi Cozzi season comes to an end, Adrian and Rod enjoy revisiting The Black Cat (1989) and struggle to give a coherent plot summary. They also take a quick look at Blood on Méliès' Moon (2016), Cozzi's long-awaited return to directing, and enjoy discussing his bowtie and his pyjamas.

  • Wild, Wild Library 2: Cannibal Holocaust and the Savage Cinema of Ruggero Deodato

Given the sad news last week of Ruggero Deodato's death, this seemed like a good reason to revisit the excellent FAB Press book Cannibal Holocaust and the Savage Cinema of Ruggero Deodato (affiliate link). In this episode you will also hear Adrian fail to be able to mention all the boobs in the book without giggling, because he is still twelve.

  • Godzilla 1977 (aka Cozzilla)

In this episode we take a trip to Japan via Italy and America to experience the psychedelic delights of Godzilla in Spectrorama 70 and Futursound! This was a first time viewing experience for both our hosts. Is it an abomination or a stroke of artistic genius? Listen in and find out. We also take some time to discuss the upcoming Black Friday releases from Severin, which are plentiful and expensive. By the next episode we may have had to sell off some vital organs.

If you want to watch Luigi Cozzi's Godzilla you can find a fairly watchable copy on Archive.org.
