  • Creator's Corner with Beck (A Witch Overturning Tarot Laws in Pennsylvania)

In this special Creators Corner episode of Wildly Tarot Podcast, I sit down with Beck, owner of The Serpent's Key Shoppe in Hanover, Pennsylvania, to talk about their recent lawsuit filed against the local sheriff  and how Beck's business was targeted under an outdated 1861 law that prohibits fortune telling for profit.

We dive into the details of the sheriff's behavior, how this law (potentially) impacts tarot readers in the area, and the constitutional challenge Beck's lawsuit raises, arguing for free speech and religious rights. This is a conversation where law nerds and tarot lovers will find common ground, and it’s not one to miss!

Beck also shares their personal journey of opening the shop, navigating small-town politics, and the unexpected challenges they faced and what it means for them to continue to fundraise and build a sanctuary in Hanover.

You can find their Go Fund Me and lend your support them here! Also sign the Change.Org peition to overturn the much outdated law that the sheriff cited in their conversation with Beck! (International Signatures Welcome!!)

In this episode Ettie welcomes long time listener and friend of the podcast, Jess, as guest co-host. Jess shares how she found her enormous loom and they the talk about crafting in general and the two move onto decks in their practices they enjoy and dislike.

This episode is sponsored by Rue and Vervain and the 2nd edition of their Earth, Moon, and Shadow Oracle + Expansion Pack.

The Deck of the Week is the Lilifer Tarot by Little Darkness, a small shop Ettie has been obsessed with for years. As it's a deck that Ettie has been *itching* to talk about for months, it was perfect that Jess joined for this episode as she shared during the episode that it's one of her all time favorite decks. • The Meraki Tarot

Joining Ettie this week in the Guest co-host seat is Taryn (@latenightdesigns) a long time friend of the podcast and full time romance author who uses tarot in their daily writing process. Their most recent book came out on the day we recorded together, Taming the Boss. (Taryn's novels were particuarly helpful for Ettie when they were going through a rough time in their life, so they are definitely great for times when you need to turn your brain off and just dive into something fun and low stakes!!)

Our question for the episode is from Jess who asked about creating friendships/found family in the midst of a recent AUDHD diagnosis and feeling hopeless at what to do next.

The Deck of the Week is the Meraki Tarot by Kerri Snook. The fourth edition of this deck will be released soon, so listen to Taryn and Ettie talk about their different editions of the deck and how Kerri's art for the deck has changed through the years.
