Willing to Adapt

Enter the dark world of "Coraline" by Neil Gaiman, and the visual masterpiece that is the movie adaptaion by Director Henry Selick. Coraline ventures into a crazy, and dangerous other world that is not what it seems, much like our hosts, Eric and Romi, who go head to head with some surprising behind the scenes information, as well as heavy disagreements. Which do you think is better?

Controversy, secrets, and flowers! Join Eric and Romi as they discuss George Bernard Shaw's play, Pygmalion, and ultimately the movie musical, My Fair Lady. One young woman's journey to improve her life by learning to speak like a proper lady, despite the brutish nature of her teacher, Henry Higgins. This episode unpacks some of the anger over the changes made in adaptaions, as well as some behind the scenes drama.

Who doesn't like the Jim Carrey version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"? Apparently Romi. For this special Christmas episode Eric and Romi read the yuletide classic by Dr. Suess, and they compare the 1960s television special with the live action version. There are some strong opinions shared here, but it's mostly all just good fun. Whether you are new to these adaptations, or they are beloved Christmas traditions, please enjoy.
