Welcome to Quarantine Creatives. I’m your host, Heath Racela.  For more than 15 years, I have worked in television, as a producer and a director.  I have seen a lot of change in my time, but none quite so sudden and so disruptive as the changes brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic.  Many of the shows that I know and love ceased production indefinitely, leaving many crew members and staff unemployed.  Others scrambled to broadcast from houses across the country.  And an audience that had come to expect beautiful, high definition images is now tuning in to cell phone videos on YouTube, Instagram, and even network television.  We are indeed in a new era.

 

It’s all of those changes that led me to start Quarantine Creatives.  In each episode, I’ll talk to a professional from the TV, film, radio, or media industry that is grappling with these rapid changes.  We’ll have thoughtful conversations about how we got here, what getting back to normal might take, or what the new normal might look like.
