Title: Longing: What are you looking for?
Who am I? What am I doing here? All of us are searching for the answer to these two questions, because we feel within us a longing for more. This longing is something that relationships, money, and possessions can’t satisfy. True satisfaction is found only in connecting directly with the Lord Jesus Christ.

● Go around and share a highlight and a low light since you last met.
● What stood out to you in the sermon?
● What was one thing in the sermon that was challenging?
● What was one thing in the sermon that was encouraging?
● What do you want to be different this week in your life?
● First question should open the topic, keep it general and connect it with our culture or get people to share a personal story based on the topic.
● Second question should get people trying to articulate what Christians believe about the sermon topic (whether rightly or wrongly).
● Third question should get us thinking about how we should live our lives differently.
● Fourth question can be a technical or challenging theological issue.
1) Every person is longing for the answer to these questions, “Who am I?”, and “What am I doing here?”. Where does our culture look in order to search for the answers to these questions? How would our culture answer these questions?
2) Phil said, “To find true peace and satisfaction is to connect directly with the Lord Jesus Christ,” meaning that Jesus is the answer to the questions above. Share a time when you knew that Jesus was the answer to your identity and purpose. Why do you believe true peace and satisfaction is found in Jesus?
3) Jesus says that, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also,” (Matthew 6:21). How can you make Jesus your treasure everyday? What are some things that you might need to lay down and surrender to Jesus in order for him to be your treasure?
4) Jesus met Mary when she was demon-possessed, broken, and hurting, but he gave her love, dignity, and healing. If you’re comfortable, share a time when Jesus’ love met you at a hard time in your life. How did he heal you / how is he healing you?
