Jesus is always with us. And by the power of the Spirit within us, we can be in his presence both now and forever.
The disciples in John 14 were “stressed out” and afraid about losing Jesus and their relationship with him, their intimacy with him. Jesus responds by telling them that he will not leave them, but will come to them. Have you ever experienced a time when you were afraid of “losing” your relationship and intimacy with Christ? Or a time when you felt you were abandoned by Christ? What comforted you or led you through those moments? How did Christ come to you during those moments?
Phil talked about the many rooms that Jesus has prepared for his children. The rooms represent being in the presence of Jesus forever, which is the highest reward and prize. What comes to mind when you think of this? What effect does having an eternal vantage point have on our lives?
Jesus isn’t just a way to understand God. He is the way to God. He reveals God to humanity. What is your story of how Jesus revealed himself to you / opened your eyes to know him?
