GoFundMe becomes GoFraudMe after attempting to steal $9 million raised for the Canadian Truckers' Convoy. The Censorfy campaign from other big tech giants encouraged by governments continues against both the famous and little guys. I cover the latest on this later in the week Tim's News Explosion.

After freezing $9 million CAD in funds donated to the Canadian truckers, GoFundMe was going to transfer those funds to charities that they approved of if donors did not apply for a refund in time. After the Attorney-Generals of various Republican US States including Florida vowed they would investigate GoFundMe for fraud the organization announced it would refund donors automatically. GoFundMe’s leftist bias should have been obvious when it pulled Israel Folau’s legal defence fundraiser in 2019.

Although Spotify did not give in to the demands of musicians such as Neil Young and Joni Mitchell and cancel their $100 million USD exclusivity deal with Joe Rogan they have memory-holed over 100 of his podcasts from their achieve for unspecified reasons. Free speech YouTube alternative Rumble hasUS offered to match Rogan’s Spotify contract with the pledge to restore all episodes of the Joe Rogan Experience.

Whoopi Goldberg real name Caryn Elaine Johnson was suspended from The View for two weeks after claiming on the show that the Holocaust was not about race. Comedian Jimmy Carr has been under fire for a joke in his Netlfix special that what happened to Gypsies in the Holocaust was a positive. Another comedian Heather McDonald collapsed on stage after bragging her vaccines had kept her safe.

ASIO Director Mike Burgess gave his National Threat Assessment address last night warning that the covid pandemic had led to more radicalization and the rise of “specific-issue grievance” which could lead to violence. Yesterday the mainstream media reported on a “sick video” where “masked neo-nazis” burnt the Aboriginal flag.

Increased government security and covid surveillance has rightly attracted the concerns of digital rights and privacy groups. The federal government is seeking agreement from the states for a new government digital ID that would integrate with state service apps used mainly for covid check-ins. The federal government is trialing online age verification for alcohol and gambling sales and could be possibly be used for online pornography access making it easier for someone’s online activities to be tracked. The Labor Opposition will introduce a digital online license for school children to obtain so they can learn how to use the internet “safely”.

As New Zealand introduced a stalled stepped plan to reopen its border, the Canberra Convoy clashes with ACT Police. Polls show both Ardern and ScoMo are losing popular opinion. Religious freedom is once again in the spotlight. Join Tim Wilms and Dieuwe de Boer on Trad Tasman Talk.

From Monday private hospitals in Victoria will be able to resume elective surgery as Omicron hospitalizations plummet. The Andrews Government also announced $1.4 billion in extra health funding after it was revealed that Victoria spends less per patient than any other state in Australia. Dan Andrews hasn't ruled out mandating further vaccine doses if they are recommended.

There has been international outrage at Jacinda Ardern over pregnant NZ journalist Charlotte Bellis being denied a MIQ spot instead of remaining in Afghanistan under the protection of the Taliban even though she is an unmarried woman which is forbidden under Sharia law. In response and after emerging from isolation Ardern announced a complex 5 stage plan to reopen NZ to the whole world without any quarantine by October of this year.

The other closed state Western Australia is now facing a food shortage after the road and rail transit routes on the Nullabour are currently flooded. Qantas CEO Alan Joyce has compared WA to North Korea. The local WA Police last night interrupted a Catholic mass to check mask exemptions.

Inspired by the Candian Truckers' Convoy many Australians have driven cars and caravans to Canberra to demand an end for vaccine mandates and passports. The ACT Police used brute force to drive the convoy participants from the Patrick White Lawns outside the National Library whom they deemed were packed and camping there illegally. Two ACT police officers were counseled for clinking their pepper spray bottles afterward. During this same week coincidently Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews announced $60 million in funding to combat violent extremism.

Although the NZ general election isn't due until the end of 2023 Jacinda Ardern's stardust has taken a tumble in the polls. Finance Minister Grant Robertson has proposed a 3% tax increase in the government's redundancy insurance scheme.

The Australian federal election is due in May 2022 with the latest Newspoll seeing Labor leading 56-44 and Morrison now only 2 points ahead of Albanese as Preferred PM 43-41. Scott Morrison's National Press Club speech didn't go to plan with Peter Van Onselen confronting him with a text message where former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian called him a 'horrible horrible person' with a serving Cabinet Minister replying calling him 'a complete physco'.

As Omicron cases dip government mandates continue to rise. This has led to a surge in opposition to pandemic restrictions continuing into their third year led by the Canadian Truckers Convoy. On tonight's Tim's News Explosion I look at the push for a return to tradition and normality.

New Zealand is forced back into panic and despair as Jacinda hits the red light for Omicron. Record inflation is starting to do permanent damage in both Australia and NZ. Join Tim Wilms and Dieuwe de Boer.

Not only has Jacinda Ardern put the whole of NZ back into red light restrictions but introduced a new phased change to testing and isolation protocols as the Omicron outbreak progresses. Speaker of the Parliament Trevor Mallard has continued to incite panic buying in NZ describing his weekly shop in a bare shelved supermarket. Jacinda's Omicron response has got the endorsement of her number one Australian fan Project co-host Lisa Wilkinson who describes Australia's Omicron response as a binfire.

Australia Day 2022 saw Tennis player and disability advocate Dylan Alcott named Australian of the Year. He replaces outgoing Australian of the Year Grace Tame who pulled a sour face when she met Scott Morrison at an official function. The Federal Government said it had bought the copyright to the Aboriginal Flag from its creator Harold Thomas but Flagworld still has the exclusive manufacturing rights.

Director-General of Public Health NZ Dr Ashley Bloomfield has denied the government is "requisitioning" RATs from private supplies but "consolidating" their own supplies. Scott Morrison has stated reports that the Federal Government has been requisitioning RATS are not true. The NSW and Victorian Governments have been engaged in what's been described as a military-style operation sending RATs to every school for the start of Term 1 next week.

With many people obtaining natural immunity from recent infection booster uptake in Australia has been slow. Dan Andrews has stated he hopes the definition of fully vaccinated will change to three doses so he can mandate the booster. Victorian hospitals continue to operate under a code brown which is seeing elective surgery that could be performed still banned. Mainstream media websites have reset their vaccine bars to include the third dose rate. NSW has extended its mask mandate, QR codes, and singing and dancing ban for another month. WA's hard border continues with Mark McGowan this afternoon unveiling his own Omicron close contact and testing rules.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk's government is involved in an integrity scandal with three of her anti-corruption and integrity officers State Archivist, Mike Summerell, Integrity Commissioner, Nikola Stepanov and CCC Chair Alan MacSporran all resigning. This new scrutiny stems from the fact that Palaszczuk wasn't investigated when she pulled a Hillary Clinton and used a private email server for official government business.

In the sports report, Tennis Australia has backflipped on their ban on Where's Peng Shuai t-shirts. Members of Drew Pavlou’s Democracy Alliance still plan to hand out 1000 of the t-shirts for the finals weekend. The atmosphere of the Australian Open has turned around after the Novak Djokovic deportation with Australian Ash Barty in the women's final and an all-Aussie men's doubles final.

AFLW Muslim player Haneen Zreika won’t play in the competition's LGBT Pride Round on religious grounds, an Instagram post said she respects and accepts everyone. She hasn't received the same hate that Christian Rugby player Israel Folau did. The Melbourne Victory A-League club has been fined $5000 for alleged homophobic abuse their fans directed at gay A-League player Josh Cavallo.

Inflation in NZ is at a 30-year high of 5.9%.  Jacinda "absolutely refutes" that high government spending has led to high inflation. In Australia, inflation is at 3.5% unemployment continues to fall now at 4.2%

While much of the world and Eastern Australia prepares for endemicity, WA and NZ cling on to the kneejerk health responses of the past two years. Government Backward Responders and tyranny on today's Trad Tasman Talk with Tim and Stephen.

If you listened to mainstream and social media commentary about how the Omicron wave is progressing in Eastern Australia you would think there is no food on the shelf, everyone is locking themselves down and corpses are piling up on the streets. It is partly because of this misinformation that WA Premier Mark McGowan has postponed the reopening of the state to the world indefinitely or until 80% of the population is tripled jabbed. This backflip has devastated many who will continue to be separated from family.

While NZ is living with Delta it is trying to keep Omicron at bay and has a half-baked plan to deal with an outbreak. Jacinda Ardern has promised no more lockdowns but will move the whole nation to traffic light red with Omicron spreads in the community. NZ's MIQ is not opening any more spots for returning Kiwis due to so many Omicron cases at the border.

‘Bishop’ Brian Tamaki leader of the Destiny Church is now on remand at Mt Eden prison after breaching his bail by attending another freedom event. His followers blockaded the prison road when Tamaki was denied access to his toiletry bag.

Premier Dan Andrews and his Labor Government are still on track for a third term in the November 2022 state election despite Melbourne being the most locked-down city in the world during 2020-21. This week concerningly the Victorian Electoral Commission sent former NBA star Andrew Bogut a warning letter claiming he'd violated electoral authorization laws because she shared a link to a VoteThemOut video aimed at the crossbenchers who voted for Dan's permanent pandemic laws.

The Victorian Government Youth Affairs council released a TikTok video with an underage lesbian encouraged to get the covid vax without her parents' permission. A Victoria Police officer has been charged with assault over a sickening head slam of a man at Flinders Street station in September last year during the week of tradie anti-mandate protests.

The Federal Court of Australia published its reasons for upholding Immigration Minister Alex Hawke's decision to deport Novak Djokovic, the court believed it was reasonable for the Minister to believe Djokovic could incite anti-vax sentiment in Australia. Surfer Kelly Slater appears to be the next high-profile unvaccinated sports star to be denied entry to Australia.

England will be removing all legal requirements to wear face masks. This is bad news for mask perverts, a study from the University of Cardiff found surgical masks make people appear more attractive. The Australian Human Rights Commission is responding to a complaint by a local Muslim group about how Katie Hopkins was granted a visa last year. Hopkins was deported after joking she was going to answer to the hotel quarantine door naked with no mask on.
