Father Anthony with Cristina and Tony regroup today after the weekend to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. Father talks about the sufferings of Mary, Mother of God and its connection to the Passion of her Son as today is the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. Father then talks about Our Lady’s appearance for those in suffering in recent times such as Our Lady of Kibeho in the lead up to the Rwandan genocide. They discuss what Our Lady’s sufferings means for us on this holy day as Catholics.

It’s Monday and Lauretta’s guest, Joyce Duriga from the Archdiocese newspaper the Chicago Catholic returns to talk about the many events of the past few days from 25 years since the fateful day of September 11th to Pope Leo XIV’s Birthday and the celebration today of the Feast of the Triumph of the Holy Cross. Lauretta talks with Duriga about the recent law now in effect legalizing assisted suicide in the State of Illinois and Cardinal Cupich’s fight for the rights of Catholics to not partake in this sad new development in our State. There will be a conference on Learning About Assisted Suicide on October 15th at St. Luke and St. Bernardine parish in River Forest, IL. Father Anthony with Cristina and Tony are joined by Alice Babij (Bobby) to gather to pay respects and reflect 25 years to the day of the 9/11 terror attacks.  Father greets everyone reflecting on the memories of that fateful day and his experience with funerals. Father then reflects on Christ’s suffering at His Passion on The Cross and how many heroes suffered and survivors have had to live in agony decades after the attacks. They discuss how love or agape is willing the good of the other and how it is above kindness or feelings and is the very essence of God.

Father explores good and bad signs on how we interpret them.

Father further explores the concept of guardrails. Ideally when we make a commitment, say in a committed relationship the contemporary thought is that marriage is not necessary. Because of concupiscence with no guardrail such as the confines of the Sacrament of Matrimony, there may be fertile ground for temptation. Living together within guardrails of the Sacrament of Matrimony the maintenance of a loving relationship is greatly assured.

Guardrails such as the 10 Commandments are necessary for society to function as God provides them for us to have a true faith.

Father Anthony with Tony regroup today to discuss the goings on since Tuesday.
