  • E41 | Skirts Are for Girls
Since the dawn of ages, pink was representative of girls and blue was representative of boys. Everyone knows this! The labor and delivery floor of hospitals and anyone at a baby shower. Never did you go to a gender reveal looking to see purple or green. The same way these colors are universally known for who they symbolize, is the same way we know the stick figure on the bathroom door with a dress to mean female restroom and the figure without the dress to mean male restroom. Because skirts are for girls; that’s just what it is. 👗

  • E40 | Lack of Decorum is Not Culture
Do-rags and bonnets are NOT culture…it’s bedroom wear. Definitely not to be confused with decorum. Where is the self respect when walking out your front door? Where is the positive representation for self, family, and institutions you’re associated with? Believing that your outward presentation stops with just you is selfish.

Oh the joys of potty training. No two kids are ever alike in this area…except for they don’t want to do it! Guess what kids, parents aren’t hype about it either; just the knowledge that one day it will be done…and hopefully sooner vs later. In the meantime…send help! 🚽

  • E37 | From Scratch
With all the crazy things being put on our food, in our food, and things we eat that aren’t even food at all, it’s prompted the inquiry of how to make many of our everyday foods from scratch. They say you are what you eat, and I refuse to accept being genetically modified and bio-engineered. Being aware has me wanting to be Betty Crocker…at least where I have the time. 🥣

  • E36 | McDonald’s is Not an End Goal
Current talk on the town is raising the national minimum wage to $25 per hour. While this may sound great to anyone who’s not there currently, this sounds horrible when thinking about the future of America’s economic state. Sure, you may now meet the minimum three times the rent to have an apartment, but you can also expect to pay an easy $12 for a burger…without fries and a drink. Yes, people need to make a wage to live, but why strive for self betterment when one can ask “does that complete your order?” and live in the same middle working class neighborhoods, that prior, required true effort and years on the job to obtain.

  • E33 | Summer Break, or WFH Breakdown?

It has arrived; summer break is here and the kids are home. Sure, this is a great time to make memories with the kiddos; backyard cookouts, catch some sun & sand, chase down the ice cream truck, maybe even map out a road trip. But those of us working from home, this break can easily cause a slight mental breakdown as our temporary co-workers quickly settle into boredom with the expectation of you becoming their personal court jester. All I’m saying is…send sunscreen AND HELP! ☀️

  • E32 | Can We Graduate with Class?!
Graduations are a time for celebrating, not fighting. A time to walk across the stage with poise, not ratchet activity. To show up in your Sunday’s best and relish in the completion of hard work. I really need those graduating and those in attendance to have some class! 🎓
