ORLANDO, Fla. – A mural dedicated to the victims of the 2016 mass shooting at Pulse nightclub was vandalized with white supremacists stickers.
The mural is located outside of The Center, an Orlando LGBTQ advocacy organization.
“Our phone line has been down since yesterday in Orlando due to vandalism. We apologize for any inconvenience. We are still here to serve our community. We hope to have phone lines restored tomorrow. Thank you for your patience,” the LGBT+ Center Orlando wrote on Facebook.
The Center also confirmed to News 6 in an email additional “white supremacy stickers” were found on the building Saturday.

City Set to Cancel Rent for Airport Stores, Restaurants, Rental Car Companies Amid Pandemic
With O’Hare and Midway airports deserted amid the coronavirus pandemic, stores, restaurants and rental car companies are set to get a two-month break on most of the rent they owe to the city under a proposal that cleared a key city panel Friday.
The City Council’s Aviation Committee unanimously advanced the measure, which Aviation Commissioner Jamie Rhee said was needed to help businesses that were not eligible for federal relief.
The measure, which is scheduled to be approved Wednesday, also includes relief for advertising companies Clear Channel and JC Decaux, as well as Boingo Wireless, which provides internet service at O’Hare and Midway.
Businesses that accept the help would have to agree not to fire any of their employees, Rhee said, adding that she would personally hold the companies responsible for complying with that requirement.
In addition to the two-month rent waiver for stores and restaurants inside the terminals, businesses would not have to pay the city rent based on a percentage of their sales or a minimum amount based on their receipts from the previous year, whichever is greater.
Those payments would be deferred — with no interest — until sales recover to 75% of last year, Rhee said. That deferral could last up to three years, Rhee said.

The ‘gender critical’ feminist movement is a cult that grooms, controls and abuses, according to a lesbian who managed to escape

[‘TERF is a slur’: Lesbian who left gender-critical movement calls it a cult]
    Writer Amy Dyess. (Supplied)
“TERF is hate speech and it’s time to condemn it,” gender-critical writer Amy Dyess announced in October 2018 – words she now regrets.
“TERF is a slur used to sexually harass, threaten, and silence lesbians,” continued Amy’s viral Medium post, which was liked more than 4,300 times.
Back then, Amy was connected to an international network of powerful lesbians.
She believed, like many people in the “gender critical” feminist movement do, that the lesbian community to which she belonged was under attack from trans-rights activists.
She believed that lesbian identity itself was being infringed on and erased by trans women, and that the media didn’t care – more than that, she believed that the media was being controlled by trans people.
She believed that she was part of the fight back against trans-rights activists – part of the fight back against homophobia.
Amy, who is based in Seattle, doesn’t believe those things any more. Looking back on her time in the “gender critical” feminist movement, she is unequivocal: it’s a cult.

  • CoronaVirus And Capitalism - A Tale Of Two Shitty Things
    Hey gang.
We intend to take you on this audio ride with us.
We're over 1,000 episodes now and we're transitioning into making Social Dissonance the long form show and the Wine Cellar a fun social justice place to be.
As per casual, we have triggering shit on here and we strongly suggest folks proceesd with caution.
    We're still socializing the masks.
Dr. Chelsey Sprengeler of FURIE - Feminist Uprising to Resist Inequality and Exploitation is teaming up with us to start with getting 25 masks out to women in the city out here.
We're going to bag those up, ship them and then that organization will do the street level work.
While we have more masks on order, we'd like to know what else folks need.
If you know someone that needs something of which they lost access to in this pandemic, let us know so we can gosh darn try something.
