Let's dive into some California History as we taste through two grapes that once dominated the agricultural landscape in California's wine history. Before prohibition these grapes thrived as the go to grapes for many winemakers.

The clean & focused winemaking of Scythian Wine Co.'s Mission and non-vinifera grapes blend help me navigate through the art of blind tasting while the Petit Sirah from Ward Four Wines quite literally leaves me speechless and lost in the sauce.

Both of these wines come from winemakers who decidedly are championing indigenous and domestic grapes that aren't as commonly known now as they had once been, and both of these winemakers are in the natural wine scene.

What sets both of these wines apart from others in the natty wine elk is their ability to share a story, convey a place or time, and ultimately provide an experience that people want to share.
