This week we speak with Ana Pereira da Fonseca Reis. Ana’s great-grandfather was the founder of the wine company Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal, in 1926. Today, it remains a family-run business, producing some of the most prestigious wines in the region. We discuss Ana’s story, the history of her family and what makes this area so special for wine and more.

The family owned company is responsible for 3 wine farms in the Region of Óbidos, Quinta do Sanguinhal, Quinta das Cerejeiras and Quinta de S. Francisco.

Located only 40 minutes away from Lisbon, they represent nowadays the most prestigious DOC Óbidos wines. Today the management team is made up of the new generation of the Pereira da Fonseca family and a group of professionals committed to innovation, always respecting the history of the company while still meeting the current demands of the a very competitive wine market.
