  • Italy Castello Palaldin Bonomi - Francesca Paladin
Castello Bonomi is located in Coccaglio at 275 meters above sea level above the foothills of Monte Orfano. The estate is a 32 hectares mosaic of cru. The incredible terroir is the result of the tectonic uplift that created the Monte Orfano and consist of calcareous conglomerate. The calcareous conglomerate is a chalky, crumbly and rich in minerals kind of soil. Thanks to Monte Orfano and the southern exposure the vineyards are protected from cold northern winds and enjoy a perfect solar radiation with a rainfall lower than the other areas of Franciacorta. These three elements make possible to obtain wines with an extraordinary persistence, structure and complexity, in addition to an elegant minerality and a marked saltiness. Castello Bonomi was born in 1985 and in 2008, the winery becomes part of Casa Paladin, a family-owned group of wineries, located in Italy's most prestigious denominations. Castello Bonomi follows the principles of organic farming, adopting a responsible approach aimed at minimizing environmental impact through practices that improve and protect the vineyard ecosystem. Castello Bonomi Franciacorta wines boast great longevity and undergo extensive aging on the lees. They are highly appreciated and awarded by major industry guides such as Wine Enthusiast and James Suckling.

  • Spain - Llopart - Jessie Llopart
According to a document written in Latin and dated 1385, a Llopart family’s ancestor, Bernardus Leopardi, was granted some vineyards located in the present country estate Can Llopart de Subirats.
Over the following centuries the Llopart family combined the cultivation of traditional agricultural Mediterranean products: grapevine, wheat and olive.
At the end of the XVIII century the Lloparts decided to devote themselves exclusively to wine growing.
The secular dedication to vine cultivation, elaboration and wine growing reaches its turning point, after intense testings, with the production of the first Sparklilng Wine Llopart bottles at the old country house cellar in 1887.
In the early 1950s, Pere Llopart i Vilarós gave his cellars a new drive. He actively contributed in launching the “craft sparkling wine” and consolidated cava Llopart as a high quality product.

  • Canada - Solvero Wines - Alison Moyes
We’ve carefully selected Garnet Valley in Summerland, British Columbia to be our home for its unique biodiversity. A remote and unexpected place with magical beauty.
Our Garnet Valley vineyard is home to seven premium clones of Pinot Noir. Each clone was carefully selected for a variety of organoleptic properties and compatibility with this narrow valley, rocky soils and extreme elevation. The diversity of these clones in the vineyard and the balanced low yield produced, translate to unmatched complexity and intensity in the finished wine.
At almost 600m elevation, our Garnet Valley estate vineyard is one of the highest in BC. The elevation, steep slopes and well-draining soils define this extraordinary site. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are showcased beautifully in this rugged landscape.
The demanding terrain of this place, exemplifies our steadfast dedication to the philosophy of “la lutte raisonee”, meaning the reasoned struggle. This belief is central in all of our choices in farming and winemaking and is showcased in each glass of Solvero wines.

  • Spain - Parès Baltà - Marta Casas
We are a family winery with a long tradition of winemaking with origins stretching back to 1790, when the first vineyards were established on our estates in the Penedès, situated a short journey of just 30 km from the Mediterranean coast and Barcelona. Our aim is to care for our vineyards in the best way we know to create organic wines and cava (Spanish sparkling wines) full of expression and the essence of our land. Land that for centuries has been dedicated to the cultivation of the vines.
Our passion for nature has always been the primary driving force to grow our vines organically, certified since 2002, and biodynamic since 2012.Our estates benefit from a rich biodiversity thanks to the different cultivation and fertilization methods that we practice. We have our own flock of sheep to fertilize the soil and feed the land. We carefully tend to and employ our own bee hives to take care of the pollination process and help us to reinforce the Mediterranean.

  • Spain - Conreria Scala dei Raquel - Raquel Ferré
The Priorat is a surprising space for its orography. Currency the Mediterranean of the height of the Montsant. In these slate floors, the monks of La Cartoixa de Scala Dei demarcated the land that today is the modern and mighty Denomination of Qualified Origin of the Priorat.A region where its economic and social life revolves around its agricultural vocation and, very particularly, around the wine. A land, to which it was recognized, in 1974, by F.A. a quality and unique conditions so that some of the best wines in the world can be elaborated in it.The name of our winery includes in itself a story and a legacy that will bring us back to a millennial tradition. Proud of it, we praise this land, paying special attention to vineyards of different types and varieties, wisely distributed in different parts of the region, in order to create wines with their own personality. In the Priorat, each door, stone or wall accommodates silence, rest and vitality that makes everything meaningful. A place where passion and knowledge make it possible to open up this miracle: the creation of a great wine. Here our wines are born and raised, allying with time, in order to transmit the essence of a young and modern winery that points to tradition and that harvesting in harvest, perfects its art.We invite you to know and share our precious universe.
La Conreria d'Scala Dei is born from the will and enthusiasm of a group of people historically linked to the Priorat, with the desire to publicize the magnificent wines that are elaborated on this land in the world.Starting from the old property of the Casa senyorial dels Rialp, we have modernized its facilities to make our wines and share, the historical legacy of this land and its people in the magnificent Scala Dei area and El Priorat, with its visitors. With a careful selection of vineyards and grapes, of the 52 hectares leased and owned, and with our effort behind each of the 130.000 bottles that we produce annually, we make these wines come true with the peculiar footprint of the Priorat.

  • Canada - Tightrope - Lindsay O'Rourke
Tightrope Winery was born out of a recognition that balance is the ultimate goal, both in wine & in life! After growing up in Southern Ontario Graham trekked across the country and spent a few years enjoying the outdoor life that Whistler, B.C. has to offer by skiing, mountain biking, playing rugby, and meeting his future wife carving the snowy slopes and sipping fine wines. Having grown up in British Columbia Lyndsay has been aware of the fine grape growing conditions the Okanagan Valley has to offer since the onset of her own wine passion. Once the couple had their first child they decided that the environment of the Okanagan would be ideal for cultivating a family as well as their dream of a winery. Initiating a formal education on the subject of how to best cultivate the vines that produce the wines they love, they discovered that the vineyard life and winemaking were passions that they shared and wished to further pursue in their life together. The growing family relocated to New Zealand for a more advanced and thorough education on this subject that has proven to be their life-focus.Having attained honours degrees in both oenology and viticulture while studying in New Zealand at Lincoln University, Lyndsay and Graham made a welcome return to the Okanagan Valley, settling on the Naramata Bench in 2007. Since that time both have been hard at work honing their skills and practicing their trade, enabling that they can excel in their chosen profession. Lyndsay has traded in her snowboarding boots for a pair of Wellies, and was been an outstanding, award-winning winemaker for the Ruby Blues Winery along the Naramata Bench from 2009 to 2014. In 2012 and 2014 Ruby Blues won the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for their 2011 and 2013 Viognier. Lyndsay has now turned her focus to Tightrope Winery full time and continues to craft award winning wines in the new Tightrope facility! After their return to Canada, Graham went to work for Mission Hill Winery as one of their lead viticulturists. Managing numerous acres of different varietals successfully through many seasons allowed Graham to put into practice those hours of study, and he has stowed the mountain bike in the garage in favour of overalls and a tractor. 2012 saw Graham leave Mission Hill to focus on the O’Rourke’s own 10-acre property along the Naramata Bench at Fleet Road.Walking the tightrope of a life-in-balance, in her free time Lyndsay enjoys training for the triathlons that are hosted in the region, while Graham still sports his rugby cap once in a while. The Fleet Road Vineyard, in addition to the vines, is now growing not one, but two fantastic boys! A variety of family pets can also be found on the farm and are sure to be seen on the next Vineyard Dogs of the Okanagan Calendar!Lyndsay and Graham look forward to sharing with you their enthusiasm and life-long dedication to wines that are worth walking a tightrope for.
Tightrope Winery is a small, family-run, sustainable winery on the Naramata Bench. A true labour of love for owners Graham (viticulturist) and Lyndsay O’Rourke (winemaker). Our vineyards on the Naramata bench Naramata Bench are farmed sustainably to make hand-crafted wines with artistry and passion. Our wines capture the soul of Naramata - the personality, character, culture and fruit of "the Bench."
