Wine.Yap.Folk

In this episode of Wine.Yap.Folk, we talk about keeping Latvian folk traditions alive while living abroad. We chat about our love for Latvian folk dancing—and the occasional hesitation or awkwardness that comes with joining a group, especially when it feels like everyone’s watching (even if they're not).

But there’s more to it than just the dance steps! We also talk about the funny, sometimes uncomfortable judgment we feel from folks back home in Latvia. Is it harder to keep traditions "authentic" when you're not dancing on Latvian soil? Do we get side-eyed for celebrating from afar?

Listen to this episode where we yap about balancing tradition, identity, and a little bit of diaspora drama as we dance (without shame) through the ups and downs of keeping our Latvian culture alive wherever we are!
