Yankees fan Scott Walczyk joins the podcast as the guys react to New York's weekend sweep over the Sox. With the postseason fast approaching, who will lay claim to the American League Wild Card spots?
Sam, Spencer and Scott also break down each squad, the impressive under-the-radar year of Giancarlo Stanton, and how the Red Sox should approach pitching in the postseason.
We're back after a short two-week hiatus. And in the meantime, the Red Sox have managed to get swept by the Yankees while barely taking series against three of the worst teams in the American League. Kyle Schwarber has been raking while Bobby Dalbec has been hitting bombs. The boys assess the state of the Red Sox while discussing what their drink of choice is while watching.
I'm sensing a trend here. Sam freaks out but Spencer, as the voice of reason proves that the Red Sox are still bound for the postseason (He may even guarantee it). The guys talk about the return of Chris Sale, the epic weekend beat down of the Orioles and the latest Baseball America Farm System Rankings.
HOPE IS LOST...for Sam at least. But we know how he freaks out about things. Spencer tries his best to be the voice of reason as to why the Red Sox season is anything but lost. With the return of Chris Sale, the debut of Kyle Schwarber, and the addition of Tanner Houck to the rotation, the guys talk about how these recent struggles will soon be a thing of the past.
Sam is alive. Spencer did not in fact kill him after Episode 5. The Red Sox have Kyle Schwarber but somebody needs to tell Spencer Boston did NOT get Rizzo, Gray or Scherzer. Also apparently Spencer has a new job now and I'm just here to get him coffee. It's chaos and the Red Sox get talked about.
The boys are back and the trade deadline is upon us. Do the Red Sox make a move? Who do they trade for? And how many prospects should the Sox be willing to trade? Plus live reaction to Joey Gallo being traded while we recorded this podcast.
If you ask Sam, the Red Sox are winning the AL East NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. But, luckily Spencer is here to bring him down to earth. But what they can agree on, is that the Yankees aren't good, can't win, and got swept by the Sox AGAIN. Is Gerrit Cole showing us his true, non-spider tack colors? Are the Yanks gonna be stuck with another 7 years of mediocre pitching from their big-money ace? Plus, find out which Red Sox player we think should be in the home run derby.
Two straight series losses, the most home runs EVER given up at Fenway Park. Things are taking a turn for the worst and the boys want to know WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING.
Should the Red Sox make a trade? (Max Scherzer perhaps?), what pitchers do we trust and which ones need to go? And Spencer explains how he's not mad, just disappointed with Chaim Bloom.
Fresh off a sweep of the 4th-place New York Yankees, Sam and Spencer react to a roller coaster week for the Red Sox. A few trade conversations perhaps? And why Rafael Devers isn't in the conversation with Tatis, Vlad, and Acuna but totally deserves to be (Also he can hit fastballs so everyone chill out).
Fresh off a wet and rainy Memorial Day Weekend. The Red Sox have won seven of their last nine games. Spencer pitches a new nickname for Matt Barnes while the guys discuss who should be in the conversation in the AL MVP race and how the Red Sox should get the respect they deserve in the AL East.
