Tom and Laurie Rankin are a husband and wife team who have an extensive hiking background including hiking the Catskill 3500 (including all 35 during the winter months) generously share their extensive knowledge of the outdoors with others. 

The Rankins also volunteer as Hike Leaders for the Catskill 3500 Club. This team has been teaching winter hiking skills to individuals seeking beauty during the winter season. In this second part of a three part series, Tom & Laurie provide gear recommendations and discuss food & water needs for winter hikes.
