  • 300
When I was near my 300th track release, I started working on a song to commentate that fact. I used the core of "Black Ice" as the blue print for the new track .. I called it of course: "300"..; even though EDM did not exist at the time, I feel it fits well into the ideas of EDM now... As I was working on "cracking 600: it occurred to me that I never released "300" here at soundcloud...

  • Warmth (2016 F7002 Mix)
The Yellow Light of the morning sun rolls over the land and no matter what the state of the affairs or civil state of the scene may be it brings... Warmth.
A revisit of one of the first tracks that launch "Club Futuris". It is very fitting to be on the "FLOOR" revival album as it was one the songs that was first explored once I decided i needed "deep dive" in club and house music. This version is even more of what I envisioned for the original "Floor" concept, and opening piece that would raise the spirits and the bar for the rest of the songs to come. This version easily fits into the the hopeful upbeat uplifting side of EDM
**Update: reworked some of the melodies to get them clearer and more direct, and brought the bpm back to 120 to aid with this. "Warmth" is a very complex song at any given time and 130 bpm makes it feel cluttered to me...

  • Cracking 600 (Radioactive mix)
Back in late 1999 I released a track at mp3.com called "Cracking the Ice". It was a surprise to me at the time, but that hit a nerve with people and it still does today, I recently released my 600th track and I knew just like with I released a special version of "Black Ice" (So special, that nobody knew that the core of that track called "300" was totally "Black Ice" so for number 600, I wanted to revisit "Cracking the Ice".
    To do this I wanted:
    1) I wanted the new track to "fade" in from "Cracking the Ice"
    2) I wanted it reflect the complexity that "Wintermut3" has become
    3) I wanted to build on the house piano lines of the original song
    4) I wanted it to have the same feel and power of "Cracking the Ice"
This newer mix has the "Fire and Ice" that has always been
at the core of Wintermut3 music. It also has a stronger set of EDM elements,
althrough the basses are not via Massive as I still can not get Massive to start right under Windows 10 :/
... Here is the second and maybe last attempt.... enjoy

  • Childhood's End (Light Speed mix)
A recently found and remastered mix of an old Wintermut3 melodic/epic trance standard. The story evolves around a fleet of Earth Star-ships maneuvering to make the jump to light speed and arrive in formation for a surprise assault, thus bringing the first Humans into Inter-species Inter-stellar Warfare. As massive ships rotate and spin into position memories and thoughts run the the collective crews minds... all of this an more is captured in the notes and moods of the song...
** Please note: this track pre-dates PPKs "Resurrection" (while theirs is a truly great and monumental track, this song and its various remixes, were not influenced by PPKs masterpiece
the opening words are from Corinthians 13:11

  • Spun (Floor mix)
Think "Tilt a Wheel" , or a very well know street drug that was the subject of a top rated TV. Or doing 2 while on 1.... or....just spin to this song.....if you want to get the full effect of the spin, I suggest focusing on the one mono repeating at the that sounds like it is saying "Boo" or "Boom" you will also feel the speed changes of the spin as well...
    **NOTE**
This track is constructed using multiple concentric areas of stereo phasing that form opposing rings of stereo spectrum.
To best experience this effect I highly recommend a great set of Stereo headphones. I DO NOT recommend this if you are drunk or even potentially if you suffer from motion sickness . Of course you may do as you wish, but you have been warned ;)
Basically... this track is a *ride*...

  • Path to Eden (extra long mix)
The original longer mix of "Path to Eden" and
The Eighth part of the upcoming Concept Piece: "A Land Called June"
ALCJ tells the "Zombie" story from the point of Lance Cpl Edward Valentine of the 128th Expeditionary ("The Lyon's Pride"), a force sent to investigate the United States after a mysterious missile attack turns most American city's into Zeta (Zombie) infested areas: "June" lands. Valentine is later attacked and converted into a zombie and as his mind and body change, he finds himself at the forbidden gates of the Garden of Eden... is it delirium or is he chosen to represent a newly emerging race in God's ultimate dilemma,,,?

About Wintermut3 Music

From the publisher's feed

I have always had a general rule about Wintermut3, "I make music I want to hear" A Part of that has been to overcome barriers and "traditions" of what Electronic music has been and continues to be--the upshot being, Wintermut3 will move in directions (Funk, Metal, Rock, etc ) that are of interest, despite being a pure electronic artist. Note this does not exclude me from making more "common" types of Electronic music. I will never stop making--as long as I breathe--Trance, Jungle, Breakbeat, Techno, etc. In Fact for about 15 years I have been exploring the idea that we may be not just at an Post Electronica but may in fact be nearing a musical Epoch (for lack of a better word) what I am saying is we might be heading for a music metamorphis on the order of when Baroque became Classical Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Telemann (most prolific composer in history, over 3000 compositions (Late Baroque-->Early Classical) Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert. These types of musical epochs are a hundred to over two hundred years in length. The period that is being bridged for us is the hundred or even nearly two hundred period in which Blues and Jazz was born and then over a hundred years influenced nearly all forms of music that we know which all music was. Electronica was born around the mid to late 1920s as that was the time several electronic instruments (Theremin ). For the most part Electronic music has been amazingly resistent to Blues and Jazz, but there are definately times that resistence has lessened. I feel all the various forms of music that where born out of Blues and Jazz or heavily influenced by it are fusing back into Electronica. I am not the only artist who strives for a hybid of "real" and electronic. Only time will tell...
