Both Elba and Houston Academy were winners on Friday and now head to the semi-finals. Elba head coach Marc Sieving returns to the show to review the Tigers 62-20 win over Georgiana and previews the matchup with Maplesville.

This week on "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", Phillip Jordan opens the show by going over the scores featuring Wiregrass teams in the AHSAA Playoffs second round. Then, Elba Tigers head coach Marc Sieving joins the show to review Tigers 49-14 over Linden. Coach Sieving talks about the road trip, how the defense stopped the Linden offense, and another big game for Alvin Henderson. Also, a preview of Elba's third round game against Georgiana.

This week on "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", Phillip Jordan is joined by two winning coaches from the first round of the 2024 playoffs. First on the show is Cottonwood Bears head coach Dustin Harrison. The Bears advanced with a 54-16 win over Lanett and running back King Campbell had a big game. Coach Harrison details how the run game helped the passing game, and what the defense did well. Then, Ashford head coach David Stapleton joins to talk about the Yellow Jackets first playoff win since 2002. Ashford defeated Oak Grove 35-20. Coach Stapleton talks about the key turnovers picked up by the Yellow Jackets and the performance of Zay Johnson who had three touchdowns in the game.  Phillip Jordan also reviewed all the round one games for Wiregrass teams and looks ahead to the second round of the playoffs.

This week on "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", Phillip Jordan is joined by Dale County head coach Evan Ballard to discuss the Warriors during the off week and preview their first round game with Fairfield out of 4A-Region 4. Coach Ballard also talks about the play of the defense this season, quarterback Dallas Hedstrom, receiver Junior Smith, and more.

Some highlights from the week were Alvin Henderson breaking the state record for rushing, Ashford clinching a playoff berth, Houston Academy narrowly defeating Trinity 28-21, Dale County winning 4A-Region 2, and Cottonwood finishing an undefeated regular season. Phillip also looks at the playoff brackets and the schedule for the final week of the regular season.

This week on "The Wiregrass High School Football Report", Phillip Jordan is joined by Ashford head coach David Stapleton to discuss the Yellow Jackets' 42-16 win over then eight-ranked Opp. Coach Stapleton talks about how Ashford has been playing with a playoff mentality the last few weeks, the play of quarterback Coy Paramore, and overall performance of the defense the past two weeks. He also previews this week's regular season finale against Daleville. If Ashford wins on Friday, they will clinch their first playoff appearance since 2014.
